What are our Internet options to see the games?
Last year, we had a really good opportunity to see the Buckeyes play on ESPN College GamePlan over the internet. I don't see anything this year. Anyone know what our options are?

This could be a lost option of sorts, but if we could get together a bunch of people with Media Center PC's, we could try out Orb (www.orb.com), which lets you stream your TV over the internet. If a bunch of people host their TV's to those overseas or out of the viewing area, we could have a BP Buckeye game streaming service of sorts.

So, I am right in that GamePlan has dropped Ohio State this year?

I hope not. I just ordered it via the web this past week. I don't think that they have fully decided on who they'll will schedule yet and will probably add and drop teams each week depending on interest, record, etc.

Not sure how the internet version of GamePlan works, but I've not missed a game in four years...every game that wasn't available otherwise (ABC/ESPN/ESPN2) was available on GamePlan. Ohio State is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, set of GP customers they have, so I'm sure they'll be smart enough to make all the Ohio State games available.

I sure hope they telecast our games. |

For the 3rd week, look at the red letting. The Cincy game will be on there soon enough. Just look at the list. They normally show way more games than that. Heck, Michigan is not on the list either (the ND game is a no brainer...NBC has the rights). Yet I doubt they dropped Michigan too. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/gameplan/schedules |

Seems to me that this is an example where it would be easier for ESPN GamePlan to eliminate any confusion by listing the games they will carry as early as possible. Surely it would be in their best interest, as it would ensure they get the biggest base of interested subscribers.
Doesn't appear they are interested in doing that. (Which tells us nothing of course about whether the games will be picked up on GamePlan). |

(You have to do a "Create My Game Schedule" action with September 2006 and Ohio State as the picked team to see the above quoted schedule). |

considering the fact that at least 8 Ohio State games will be televised nationally, either on ABC or on ESPN, why would anyone bother to spend the entire $150 on the Gameplan package, when they could just order the four or five games that aren't televised for $80 or $100 on PPV...? i think i only had to pay 4 times last year...
i dunno... seems like a no brainer to me... or maybe it's just that since i live on the west coast, and the Pac Ten games don't start until 12:30 PT, we get the 12:00 ET Buckeyes games out here at 9 AM... |

You'd think the self-proclaimed 'Worldwide Leader' would make things clear to those who live outside the USA.

I've got Directv in NM.
I get most of the games on ABC and ESPN. I also get the East Coast ABC feed which is usually good for a couple of games a year. For the remainder I buy the individual games on Gameplan. I haven't spent $100 yet. ![]() |
