good point. if you start at 4 and the teams above you don't lose then you end up on the outside looking in. if we take care of our business then nobody is leaping us. we'll be there at the end -- and that is what matters.

UT is not the #2 team in the nation, IMO.

I understand your concern but all of the top 10 has question marks. I feel better about OSU's question mark compared to UTs, USCs, or NDs. Tressel is known to always field a great D. I don't see that changing.

amen to that.
if OU is in freefall for losing their QB and now starting an inexperienced kid under center why is Texas so highly ranked when they are in exactly the same situation?
the last time the Texas QB snapped the ball it was on Friday night in a high school stadium! I'd take OU's situation over that -- Paul Thompson has at least played in a college game!
lots of times highly touted early season match-ups turn into a bust as one team is exposed as badly over ranked. thinking that may happen, but not to the team currently ranked #1 in the country!

IMO, Cal (#12) is very overrated. Mark it down right now--they'll lose their first game at Tennessee.

I don't disagree, but that might be more Tennessee being much improved than Cal being bad. Cal returns 15 starters.

I'm a little surprised WVU isn't higher than #7. There were a lot of people on their bandwagon in the offseason.
