Either way, we are going to have AT LEAST 3 studly DEs and a few guys at DT who are improving, plus the addition of Goebel who could probably gain some PT as a True FR depending on how good the top 4 right now get by year's end. I am so pumped to see how this year ends up, but probably even moreso to see next years' squad... especially the SC game!!

There is still an outside chance that LW see's playing time this year, depending on whether his recovery time is 6 weeks or 8 weeks. Regardless, with the way the DL is rotated, the two deep will see significant playing time. Heyward has been impressive, period, let alone being a true Freshman. The hit he put on Locker was a thing of beauty. Another year under his belt and he will be a monster.

If he doesn't wear down, by the end of the season he will be a monster!
Picture him and Rose occupying Long while Gholstin attacks the other(weak) tackle!

Jim Lachey just said on 1460 that Heyward would be starting over Rose tomorrow. Obviously, Rose will still get a ton of reps. Pretty impressive for Heyward.

Gholston gave Long fits by himself last year.

Heyward praised
Coaches don't usually gush over freshmen, but defensive coordinator Jim Heacock came pretty close when talking about defensive lineman Cameron Heyward.

Anybody else out there think that Cam is going to win the Jack Tatum Hit of the Week award for the MSU game? A little zone blitz look, if I'm not mistaken, by Coach Heacock, and Heyward lit up whoever it was from Sparty. Just think, this guy is a true freshman. | |
