Some more history made at the Texas game...
Attendance.....
Previous stadium record: 85,123, Vs. North Texas, 9-2-06
New record: 89,422, Vs. Ohio State, 9-09-06
Also set the record for the largest amount of people to ever watch a football game in the state of Texas.

Anyway, I read if you're related to somebody who has played at Ohio State, they will put you on their practice squad. But that doesn't mean you'll dress for the games though. When I go to Ohio State to major in Sports Journalism, this is what I am going to do. I won't stop there, because I will try to dress and make the team.

I was looking on Wikipedia, and searched Texas' stadium to see how big that monster video screen that they had was, and saw it.

A new, temporary, bleacher seating section has been added behind the south endzone for the 2006 season. In mid-July 2006, The University of Texas announced that they had completely sold out Memorial Stadium for the upcoming 2006 season. This announcement meant that for the first time in the history of the university, tickets will not be sold on an individual game basis. The bleachers allowed a new attendance record of 85,123 to be set on September 2 vs North Texas.[10] This was quickly surpassed by the September 9th game vs Ohio State University. The attendance for that game was 89,422[10], which stands as the largest number of people to ever watch a football game in the state of Texas.

How do you fit 4,000+ more people in than the previous record? There are only so many seats in a stadium. That's like 110,000 people watching a game at the shoe...does not compute.

The Shoe's listed capacity is 101,568...and we regularly squeeze over 105K in there.

I'll admit the screen was a monster. I was sitting right behind TBDBITL and the screen was clean across the field in the opposite end zone. But it was crystal clear and massive.

My guess is that the stadium wasn't filled for the North Texas. Atleast in a way. The capacity of the stadium is 80,082, 85,123 with the temp bleachers.
Which is odd, that they had the exact same number of people as the capacity for the first game. That doesn't happen very often.
Well what I'm trying to say is, basically that alot of those extra people could've been "standing room only" and lux. box people.
Look at it like this, Ohio Stadium's capacity is 102,000 and change. The record is around 105,500 and change. It is possible to have more than the capacity.

the attendance surpasses the capacity because of reporters, analysts, radio commentators, press, special visitors(lebron james, eddie george, matthew mcconnaughey, emmit smith, etc...)
capacity is number of seats generally.
