Is OSU's rushing game becoming too predictable?
Interesting analysis about OSU's rushing game having a majority of success when they run to the left side of the O-LINE. Will this catch up to us when we play a team like Michigan?

I don't think so. Musburger (sp?) sensationalized it during one of our games earlier in the year, but I think if teams want to bone up on stopping the run they'll either have to a) line up more guys on the right side of their defense, which would let us pass to Ginn/Gonzo/Hall/Robo at will, or b) they can line their 2 biggest scout O-linemen up on the left side of the O-line in order to scout for Boone and Rehring. Either way, it doesn't concern me.
Our offense is about as unpredictable as I've ever seen it, and Pittman/Wellsx2 will get their yards every game, whether their expecting it to go to the left more often than the right.

How many times have we heard how predictable our offense is? Especially during the beginning of the season. There's a reason why we're always our best by the end of the season. Tressel keeps the "special" or more dynamic gameplans locked up for scUM and Bowl games. Against teams like BGSU we just run basic formations and throw in a deep pass occasionally because we don't have to do anything special to beat them. Every bowl game we see some unexpected plays(Ted Ginn lining up at QB in the Alamo Bowl, Ginn running a reverse in the Fiesta Bowl) and seem like a different and more explosive offense from the regular season which of course gets the analysts in a tizzy so they rank us high in their preseason polls and are disapointed once again when we're only putting up 30+ points on a MAC team the next year. It happens every year but the "experts" still haven't caught on. We will NOT be using the same gameplan against scUM and in the bowl game as we used yesterday.

Is there a site which tracks rushing statistics for OSU, ie breakdown for left, middle, right runs?
I checked the ozone, but I didn't see anything about directional runs. I was trying to see how we ran against Texas.
Just checked my DVR, the first two Texas drives were all runs to the right & middle.

Earlier in the season the tendency was to run right and middle. Now it is Left and middle.

Right now yes. They are having success running left and middle. If the other team cannot stop it, why fret?
It becomes a problem only if OSU does not adjust in a big game when their left-sided tendency IS stopped. If they adjust it is not too late.

predictable? yep
But this was Bowling Green. I think I understand Tressel's thinking, and as some have said, he usually pops out the new stuff in week ten and eleven.
But it's still hard to watch a game where I can predict every play in the second half -- almost. I mean, our rush statistics aren't going to look very good because we all knew when and where it was coming. And the point is, we still won by 28.
I just know the players have got to be dreaming about later in the year when they can really unleash the weapons and do some crazy, wonderful things.
The saving grace this year has been the way the Bucks have opened up the games throwing, spreading it out, and basically freaking out the other team. The boring stuff doesn't come until the second half, playing with a two touchdown lead, and then we get buttoned down pretty much.
Who would think I would have so much to bitch about with a 6-and-0 team???

I don't think our offense is to predictable, no one can seem to stop it regardless of which side we run. Much to do about nothing.
