I would thik in april there would be a bit of demand for the BTN since they will most likely be doing lots of spring pratice/spring games
April-may-june....some spring sports I will watch esp, if the writers strike is still going on as by then they will probally be showing who wants to marry an albino or something like that on network television

It is a fair question to ask but in reality what is the demand for just about any station at that time. Like was said unless you enjoy watching reruns there is a not a big demand for many stations at that time.

No doubt that TV watching takes a dip in the summer. But not the dip that BTN will see. Frankly, I don't really care about the whole thing, I was just chiming in that BTNs strength in programming has passed for this year. BBall season will see SOME people upset, but relatively few. And then, as summer rolls around, BTN will really be waiting for something meaningful to kick up (the CFB season again).
And yeah, some folks will watch spring ball and fall practice tidbits if they can, but honestly, that population is pretty slim. Would I watch it...sure. But most folks don't.

I disagree about the demand going small during BBall season. Now in some areas sure but do you think it will get heated up more in Indian, Ill and MSU country? I sure think it will.

I'm just being honest about the relative demand for basketball, which has taken a serious dip compared to FB. Yeah, there will be some folks clamoring for it, but you probably won't see a bunch of articles about it like w/ football...it's just the nature of things. No biggie.

They were talking on the BTN last night that Illinois will be int he Rose. I haven't heard this speculation anywhere except on the BTN. Maybe they were thinking that Hawaii would lose to Washington because they were losing during the telecast of Big Ten tonight.
I think Illinois to the Rose Bowl is a really bad idea. Hopefully juice could capture lightning in a bottle for a second game......but i doubt it.

The Illini are IN the Rose Bowl. They have already been contacted by the committee. It is in every Chicago newspaper. They only needed the Buckeyes going to the BCS Championship and then be ranked in the top 14 (accomplished). The current rules were created because the Rose Bowl wanted to preserve their Big Ten / Pac 10 matchup and felt they got screwed in '03 ('02 season) when Iowa went to the Orange Bowl. Also, they are not allowed to select UGA under the current rules, since the Sugar lost their natural SEC connection in LSU. So, the Rose certainly isn't going to select ASU to play USC in a conference game, and they certainly aren't going to select one of the Big 12 teams, so the Illini is clearly their only/best option, and I couldn't be happier for them and the Big Ten Conference.
