How about Sportsnet New York? They offer about 75% of the Mets games and some non-game Jets content. They charge $1.80 per customer.

I don't know, I don't have the NFL Network. I'll rephrase.
You don't think a station that shows at least 1 NFL game per week is more attractive than a station that will only show OSU when we are playing Nobody Tech? The other times it will be showing Nobody Tech vs Nobody State in women's badminton. |

The Enquirer - Skirmish could black out OSU
Just as I feared. T-W is [censored]ing around. OSU fans in Cincinnati had better get their voice out there... or go to Direct TV...hmmmmm. At least I'd own my own HDTV receiver then. |

(April 11, 2007) -- NFL Network announced its eight-game regular-season schedule airing in the "Run to the Playoffs" national primetime package. All eight games -- five on Thursdays and three on Saturdays -- will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET. NFL Network's schedule features teams which combined for five playoff berths and three division titles in 2006.

I think part of the problem is - while we might all consider ourselves "big ten fans" there is no way I'm watching, say, Northwestern v. Purdue on the BTN when I can watch a game like Georgia Florida, or whatever the major networks (or even ESPN) has on at the same time.
That's the same problem the "ESPN + game of the week" has... who the hell wants to see Indiana v. Illinois - save for Illinois and Indiana fans? No one. So.... getting back to BTN - teams that carry big fanbases - OSU, PSU, Michigan.. the BTN ratings will be good when those games are on regardless of opponant. But, no OSU fan (Ok, FEW) are skipping Texas Oklahoma to see Michigan State knock heads with Minnesota. |

That depends on the content that is shown. If it's a bunch of stuff like what is shown on CSTV, probably not very often. If they get creative with the programming, i.e., replay of Big Ten Games from the weekend (similar to what ESPNU does), classic games, big ten highlight shows, etc., then yes, I will continue to watch. Actually, most of the viewership for the channel will be during B-ball season meaning I won't have to watch MASN for the Buckeye games like last year. |

Not sure I get what you're saying, but my stance from the git go was that I feared that BTN would end up "costing" OSU fans. for the last few years we have had almost 100% coverage of Buckeye games. I'm not oppossed to pay per view and I would certainly welcome ala carte selection as there are only a dozen or so channels I use on a regular basis.

By the way, some people keep arguing that only the bottom-of-the-barrel games will be shown. That's completely false. Out of the 12 week schedule, BTN gets 2nd choice of game (after ABC) three times, 3rd choice of game (after ABC/ESPN) three times, and 4th choice (leftovers) six times. That means there will be some games worth watching. How much did an out-of-state customer pay in the past when they couldn't get the ESPN Plus games for free? $100 for Gameplan? I would much rather see some of my money go to the Big Ten than have more ESPNU games shoved down my throat. At least the BTN has a chance of getting picked up. |

I can't remember the scenarios exactly, but I do recall a few weeks when the next game I wanted to see after the OSU game involved other Big 10 or PAC 10 teams and I got sent down to SEC territory.
I would like to see more PAC 10 games aired in the region and less ACC, Big East, Notre Dame bull [censored]. |
