As a fan i'm so tired of getting screwed.
It started with the NFL network then ESPNU. Why should we have to pay extra for games that were previously on over-the-air free stations?

I think as a fanbase we should respectfully voice our concerns.

I sent Comcast a nice email about calling our conference second tier, and most likely I'll be getting the dish soon enough.

I am a TW subscriber and if you look at basic cable as TW defines it, there is not much there. Channels 2-27. No ESPN, no Fox Sports, no STO, no CNN. You get local broadcast channels, WUAB, WGN, WTBS, shopping channels, History channel and HNN.

If I recall, there was no problem with adding STO. If the Big Ten would agree to the Standard tier like the Indians did rather than Basic, it would probably get done.

I asked a friend at Time Warner about this. TW actually defines what is really a limited basic as "Basic" and their true basic as their "Standard". They would like the Big 10 network on the Standard lineup but the cable companies want to add it as a premium channel on the digital lineup (ex. ESPN News).

I was supposed to have good news on WOW! finalizing a deal on Monday but it doesn't look like it is going to happen yet. Someone needs to budge for the others to do so.

1. I can't believe that the "little guys" (i.e. anybody other than OSU, UM and PSU) aren't going to be a pain in the ass in this kind of set up. This is their chance to get equal face time. Look for them to be very concerned about establishing and protecting "their territory," as oppossed to "Big 10 Territory." I'm old enough to remember when the MAC forced the "only one national and one regional appearance" on the Big 10.

2. Anyone who doesn't think we're going into a pay-per-view set up for most sporting events is in for a big surprise.

3. At least with pay-per-view you have a real voice in the box office. They'll bring you what you're willing to pay for... OSU season ticket here I come.
