I was on the sidelines for that game, photographing as a stringer for the Dayton Daily News. This was after Dennis Franklin was asked, "Do all of Michigan's players come from Ohio?" Franklin pulled a Desmond Howard and answered, "No, only the great ones."
What gets lost in the excitement of the Lantry miss is that twice the OSU defense stopped Michigan in a first and goal situation. Once they settle for a field goal and once the bucks sack that asshole on an option on fourth down. It was so reminiscent of the '54 game when the bucks stopped them cold on a first and goal, third and fourth and a yard, and on the second play after the ball was turned over, Hoppy took off for a fifty yard off tackle dash. You're not supposed to cheer when working for the press, but I couldn't help myself. Every time the D stuffed that little creep I'd bellow, "Only the great ones, Franklin; only the great ones!" So excited was I that by half time I realized I'd only taken about 10 or 12 shots. I went through seven rolls in the second half and in the end I couldn't talk above a whisper for a week, but was it worth it? Hell yes!

The 90-minute show from tOSU's practice the other day is on again at 4 pm ET today, and again at midnight ET tonight.
TSUN's is on at 5:30, right after tOSU's, and PSU's is on at 8:30 ET tonight. Sparty is on at various times today.

Is it a bad omen for Illinois football that the day the Big Ten Network is there to film practice (Wednesday) there was a rain delay for practice and now a tornado warning in Champaign?
