I just came across a coverage map for this week's game:

But what's the story if you are out of the Ohio State market with Direct TV?? By my count there are 4 (tOSU, scUM, PSU and NW) games total on the Big 10 network at 12:00 this weekend. Do you know if direct TV will have 4 big10network channels to see all the games simultaneously? Or just one channel with the "best game" or "regional coverage"? I have no clue. I'm in Virginia hoping to not get "regional Big 10 network coverage" of State Penn. |

I'm in Georgia going to a Buckeye Bar hoping that they have the game because of this mess.

sort of....Sorry if this has already been answered in this thread, but this is one helluva hot thread, and someone will have my answer. Also, in another window, I am about to order DirecTv(*) and the sooner someone answers my question, the better. ![]() (*) My luck was pretty good as far as timing goes. My original 18 month commitment to Dish Network expires 4 days from now, and my monthly bill just jumped to $68 and change, from $62.31. I can get the NFL Sunday Ticket and 250 channels for ~$70 a month. Same price to me.... Ok, so to my question.... I currently have a receiver in my bedroom, and the TV in the living room is also run off of that receiver. Is this the exact same for DirecTv? Make fun of me at will, but it's a question I am only asking just to be sure. If I switch now, and tell them 1 receiver, I hope it's good for 2 rooms. Help? ![]() |

Fellas, this one is pretty simple.......
[censored] the Big Ten Network...... Hell, well I'm at it.........[censored] Time Warner, Comcast, Dish, or Direct TV. They don't give two [censored]s about you or I, although they do a nice job of releasing press clips trying to blame the other guy. Sadly, this is just another example of organizations wrapping themselves in the cloth of Joe fan............all the while, heading to the mailbox to collect their large checks. |

I believe DTV will give you 4 free receivers, do you prefer the 2 from 1 approach?

The side-effect benefit of my switching to DirecTv is getting the Big Ten Network. It's going to cost me roughly the same amount of money on my monthly bill, and it includes every channel I already have, plus the Sunday Ticket. Plus I happen to be at the very end of my contract, which is when most people tend to consider their options. I would certainly refuse to go a buy-out route of Dish Network simply to switch to DirecTv so I can see the Bucks smoke Akron. This is not about the OSU-YSU game, or Akron game, or even basketball season. I am a football freak, and when I can pay the same amount of money to get the entire NFL season as I already do, with probably missing 75% or more of Browns games, it does sound like a deal to me. I have to factor in that someone is going to get my money regardless of who or why it is. But a couple extra Buckeyes games? Deal clincher, 4 days from kickoff!

. I forgot to mention that I refuse to give up my DVR, and when I proceeded to the next step of my check-out on DTV, I saw something that told me it takes 1 receiver per TV, therefore I get 1 free (instant online rebate), and pay for the other upfront. Which I'm cool with, I guess, cause the bill is split in half anyways. |

Here is the channel schedule for Directv TV Listings OSU will be on an overflow channel, to be announced. As you can see scUM is on channel 220 and OSU is on at 3 am on Ch 220. The 3 am spot is a replay of the game, as the scUM game is on again Sunday morning. Don't be surprised if the BTN games this weekend AREN'T in HD on Directv. I don't think the new satelite is ready to broadcast the first group of new HD channels D10 Satellite TECH THREAD - HD Testing Schedule / Press Releases / Location - DBSTalk.Com It' looks like mid September, so the first 2 OSU games might not be in HD.

(You have to put in your zip and set service provider to D* to see the line-up, then change day to Saturday - presently it only shows the channels, no programming information). Still I'm not happy that it is being bumped for App. State vs. TSUN. Hope the guide updates tonight to show me the channel I need to record. (I'll be off out of town this weekend). I just called American Pie and they say that they'll be showing it. Figured as much, but thought I'd check before dragging the NMR over there.
