Given that Wisconsin likely will come in with the Big Ten title on the line ABC (or ESPN) would want that tilt, leaving presently resurgent Illinois as the obvious choice.
I think that is a solid prediction.

I don't know if it's all that obvious right now as Wisconsin has to travel to Illinois this weekend. The winner will remain undefeated in the Big10. If Wisconsin stumbles between now and Columbus, maybe the Illinois game will be bigger and more deserving of ABC.

Ohio State football fans who watch games via Time Warner cable can relax a little. The Buckeyes' season-ending tussle with Michigan remains a free agent for television, but not even the head of the Big Ten Network thinks he will be able to grab the rivalry game for his network, which Time Warner does not carry.

Update on WOW and the BTN. I just spoke to their customer service (because I was going to switch to Insight) and they are adding an overflow channel to the digital tier package on Oct. 6th.

For us people who can't get Satellite, Wow is a pretty good alternative now.

OSU roundup: Big Ten Network will show men's, women's basketball games

The Ohio State men's basketball team's exhibition games against Ashland and Findlay will be televised by the Big Ten Network, the network announced yesterday.
The Buckeyes play host to Ashland on Oct. 31 and Findlay on Nov. 6. Both games tip off at 7 p.m. in Value City Arena.
The Big Ten Network will broadcast as many as nine Ohio State women's basketball games during the 2007-08 season, beginning with road games against Michigan State on Dec. 30 and Iowa on Jan. 6.

I saw that Insight will show the Kent State game in HD. Does anyone else with Insight have a problem with the digital Big Ten Network channel not coming in clearly? I've called in the past and they say the digital feed they are getting from the network is weak. Their solution: just unhook the digital cable box and watch it on the classic cable channel.

Anyone else have this problem????

Directv still doesn't have their overflow channels in HD. I think Dish Network and some cable companies are the only providers that will have them in HD on Saturday.

That's true that DTV's overflow channels are not in HD, but I'm not sure that any other provider has as many overflow channels as DTV. They can show every game at the same time. The other nice thing is that you can see the games in HD when they are replayed. The OSU/K-State game will be replayed in HD. The most important advantage DTV has over the Dish Network is that the future of the BTN is secure on DTV. If you live outside the 8 state region of the B-10 what is Dish going to do with the BTN? Will it be moved to a more expensive package?

I have Directv, which is why I'm ticked they don't have their overflow games in HD while Dishnet, my former provider, does. Directv claims to have all these HD channels, but it seems like not the ones that really matter to me--like Buckeye games in HD that aren't on the main channel!
