Rules in the Shoe
I have a question about an item being allowed or banned in the stadium for games...I figure the best people to ask reside here, so here goes...
Are digital-still picture cameras (not video) allowed inside for games? I finally got lucky and got a osu-scum ticket, and I would like to take some quality pictures. I just don't want my dads camera taken at the gate if it's not allowed inside. Thanks in advance. ![]() |

Cool,

Sneak it in, wear a sweat shirt, and put it at your side.

I've carried in a detachable 70-200 lens. If you get denied at one gate (which I doubt will happen), just go to another gate.

If you have to ask, your camera is fine. Those whose cameras go beyond the limits allowed either a) already know it, or b) already have a photo-journalist pass. We've never had a problem with our cameras.

I brought in the very kind of camera you are talking about to the IU game. small digital with the retractable zoom. was in a case. the guy at the gate never even made me open the case. didn't bring my camcorder because it says not to and could've brought it in easily. they just didn't check very carefully...
at Austin they made me take my binocs OUT of the case, take the lens caps off and they guy actually looked through them! is there that much booze being hid in fake binocs or was the security guy just bored? ![]() |

Or, better yet, give it to me. I'll sell it for you.

Echoing the others...any "normal" camera will be okay...I've even seen some very nice Nikon and Canon cameras...as long as you don't have a telephoto lens or a bunch of extra lenses, you will be okay
I think the specific wording is a ban on "large lens cameras" |
