Agreed. Those numbers aren't that great for a LB. Did he even have any tackles?!

Football Weekly: LV's Klein launches himself into stratosphere

Offensive plan yields career rushing effort from Ohio State recruit in Week 5 victory

By JOSH HACHAT ? Sports Writer ? September 24, 2008

HANOVER -- Storm Klein said it came from the heart, but then he mentioned Will Ferrell's Ricky Bobby character from "Talladega Nights" as possible inspiration.
Whatever the case, the senior standout still was hearing chants of "spaceship" in the locker room days after Klein compared his 341 rushing yards in Friday's 45-17 win against Heath to being on a spaceship.
"We've talked about the spaceship before," Klein said. "It was just something we messed around with. I didn't think I was going to say it."
If Klein was enjoying the moment, it certainly was one to be celebrated.
He racked up the career-high yardage on 35 carries and the 6-foot-2, 230-pound Ohio State commitment finished with five touchdowns while handing Heath its first loss of the season.

Standout Valley running back Storm Klein had a relatively quiet night, with 23 yards and a touchdown on three carries, but Valley did not need a repeat of Klein's career performance against Heath.

HANOVER ? For years, it has been trendy to figure out who would pose the biggest challenge to Licking Valley?s Mid-State League-Ohio Division dominance.

Three years ago, it was New Albany and Heath. Last year, it was Newark Catholic.
This year it was Heath and on Friday it was Granville.

Klein combines physical skills with mental toughness to create the ultimate football player

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
Kyle Robertson | Dispatch
Ohio State recruit Storm Klein, eluding Big Walnut defenders in the Division III final, played much of that game with a lacerated kidney.

A tough guy usually doesn't have to proclaim his toughness. Dirty Harry, a Clint Eastwood staple, was a man of few words, but the aura surrounding the character and his subsequent actions justified his reputation.
That swagger has followed Storm Klein since he was promoted to the varsity football team in the fourth game of his freshman season at Licking Valley.
Klein rushed for 163 yards in his first game, then solidified his status with five 100-yard performances in the next six games.
"The nerves were there, but I knew deep down I could play with the older kids," said Klein, a 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior running back/linebacker who has committed to Ohio State. "I kind of let it be what it was. The coach asking me to come up and help the varsity. Was I surprised at how well I did initially? To tell you the truth, not really."
That attitude figured prominently in the decision by Panthers coach Randy Baughman to make Klein only the second freshman in Baughman's 27 seasons to play on the varsity. The other was running back/defensive back Grant DeBevoise (1993-96).
"People around here had known about Storm for a long time," Baughman said. "It was no secret that he was bigger and faster than everyone else his age, but we soon learned after he joined the varsity that he was mentally prepared to handle the pressure. Not that he's ever been a cocky kid, but he was plenty confident in his ability."

Storm on the Horizon

We scrimmaged Licking Valley this summer. No, he did not score a TD every time he touched the ball. No, he didn't make every tackle for a loss. But he is the real deal. He is a fine young man, classy, humble, and an awful good athlete. Keep your expectations on this planet folks.

night off

Storm Did not play other than punting last night. His toe was a little dinged up, and he could have went if needed, but against a now 0-8 Lakewood. LV rolled 41-14 without Storm. I know its hard to tell Storm who I am sure really wanted to play, but the staff did the right thing. LV is gonna need Storm at or as close to 100% as he can be come week 11.
