BG $
2/14 From BK, Storm says tOSU is on top of his list but he isn't sure if he will be a LB or RB in college. |

If he's 215 as a sophmore wrestler (key word) then he's probably really in the 220 range during football. By the time he graduates and hits the university eating program he'll be around 235 min. Monster SLB, MLB or DE?? If he hits a huge growth spurt the kid might be repping at DE. It will be interesting to watch this kids growth, he'll be killing kids by his senior year no matter.

This week I am editing the Panthers' 2006 team highlight DVD. I have anywhere from 16 - 24 clips of each of their eleven games. I'm not a big recruitnik, but let me say that after having finished the editing of just the first three videos (Week 1 loss at Jonathan Alder, Week 2 shutout of Northridge, and a Week 3 blowout of Beechcroft) it became apparent that LV's #32 was the best player on the field (LV's #11 & #26 can ball, too), regardless of whether he's playing offense or defense. In one clip I'm amazed at a devastating tackle for loss or sack, then in the next clip he rips off a 96-yard TD run from what should have been a short yardage dive just getting out of the end zone. His run against Bexley (the same as posted above in the Scouting Ohio link, though my copy is pressbox/all-22 footage) where he should have been tackled behind the LOS for a loss of 4 or 5, but instead turns it into a 10 yard gain after shedding nine defenders and a few teammates for good measure, is just insane. I have never before watched a particular high school player and immediately said, "I want this kid."
Well, I want this kid. Edit: With all due respect to the coaches and others in this thread who I will concede know more about football than me, this kid is NOT strictly a LB. His balance is amazing and he's a devastating lead blocker. I see glimpses of a guy like Brian Leonard. Last edited by Dryden; 03-17-2007 at 09:03 PM. |

Bailey showed good balance and great awareness in space. He breaks down defenders really well and sidesteps them after they commit, and if that doesn't work he just buries tacklers with the stiff arm. I've got at least a half dozen kick returns of his that are fun to watch -- the 90-odd yard return against Canton South in the playoff game was a beauty. Seemed to lack that fifth gear to really get separation from pursuers though ... at least I didn't see it in any of my film. Outstanding prospect regardless though who should have his name out there. Between Bailey and Storm, I don't envy any of the Panther's 2007 opponents in having to defense that backfield. Back to Storm, some of the best highlights I've seen are when he doesn't have the ball. Defenses respect him so much already that LV apparently can run just about any misdirection play they want for 10 yards a pop. If I can find a host, I've got about 200Mb worth of video to share. I came away really, really impressed with the brand of football LVHS is playing. Those players are all very well coached. |

No I am not related to Storm but I am a grad of Licking Valley and have been to all of Storm's games in the last 2 years. I am also a Moderator on a site for Licking County sports that is now over 1000 members strong (www.lcsports.com). Out in the Valley i guess you could say everyone is family lol.
Coach Randy Baughman is a heck of a Coach (the field is named after him lol) and one thing you can put your money on is that the kids that play for his teams will know how to work hard and will be good students and kids with good values. I bet him and Coach Tressel would get along well lol. If anyone wants to do any scouting on Licking Valley this comming year a good test will be week 2 when Licking Valley travels to North Canton Hoover. If anyone has any future questions about Storm or any other players at Licking Valley I will do my best to anwser them and if there is something I dont know I will at least know who to ask. |
