By all means...I'm just saying the words out of Nic's mouth were that he is currently (yesterday) 225 lbs. Not really all that important and don't mean to split hairs.

Questions continue concerning "Unusual" weight gains forTight End, NCAA to investigate Mentor OH. -- The apparent eleven pound weight gain by an Ohio high school senior has called into questioning the entire process of college recruiting. The student, a 225-236 pound tight end for Madison committed to the Ohio State University has yet to be named. However, Coach Jim Tressell found it necessary to comment in his usual Monday morning press briefing. "Sometimes it takes months for a kid to make this kind of progress, though I have to admit I gained a good twelve pounds last Thanksgiving. I had to buy a whole new wardrobe of sweater vests". Tressell went on to say that he will investigate the training techniques employed by the students high school coach and whether or not banned substances were involved. "Yeah, if I find out that the kid is hooked on Swenson Galleyboys or SkyHighs, he's history". Asked whether the NCAA is yet involved Tressell responded saying that he makes it a regular practice to advise the organization anytime there is more than a two pound weight gain by any prospect or player. Fans were reassured by the coach's comments. "That's a relief," exclaimed Wadc45, an important internet recruiting poster. "It's important to the recruit reporting integrity!" On the suggestion that perhaps the reported weight differentials were a result of hyperbole, a second poster, Genevabuck said "I cannot, will not, believe that. That's like saying that all those reported 40 yard dash times are exaggerated. No way". |

Great quote from a humble kid ... about making any doubters forget their doubts of him as the TE in this class.

DiLillo, who is expected to sign a national letter of intent in February to play at OSU, was on the fence about playing his senior season for the Blue Streaks. Not because of ?senioritis,? but because he feared an injured knee during basketball season might cost him a Division I football scholarship. However, Tressel and Buckeyes offensive coordinator (and Harbor High graduate) Jim Bollman alleviated DiLillo?s worries with a phone chat. ?They wanted me to compete,? DiLillo said. ?From Coach Tressel on down, all the coaches wanted me to compete. Right off, Coach Tressel said that even if I break my neck I would know that I still have my four-year scholarship.? The 6-foot-6 DiLillo, who also has been recovering from a groin injury, is currently averaging 10 points and six rebounds a game for the Blue Streaks (4-1, 1-0 PAC). |
