Who Is the Greatest Buckeye Tailback?
Well, this poll was supposed to come out in two weeks, but someone has started a similar thread, so I thought that I post the tailback poll now.
Please vote for TWO tailbacks. Players before the Woody era will be in the "old-timers" poll.

I may get ripped for this...I mean, how can I not include Eddie or Byars? All this talk about MoC just reminded me what a different team we were with and without him. I placed a greater emphasis on what each player meant to the team for which the played. This puts Byars, George at 3a. & 3b. in my mind. Really, it's not a knock on any of these guys, this list is only of fairly recent backs...and I'd be troubled to find a better list of backs for most conferences, let alone schools!

Archie & Hop. Tough choices, but those 2 have meant so much to OSU on and off the field. Their contributions far exceeded simply running the ball ... although both were phenominal at that.

We have had some good ones, that's for sure. But in my mind, it's easy- Eddie and Archie. On and off the field, they've been great. Archie gave everything he had while playing for OSU, and he's given a great deal since. Obviously, Eddie did the same on the field, and something tells me that when he's finally done in the NFL that we'll see him back on Columbus...

I could decide between Archie and Hop. I'd have to go with Hopalong first followed by Archie in a close race. Hop changed the face of OSU football and paved the way for what it has been for many, many years.
Eddie is still my favorite though

No doubt, Hopalong and Archie...followed by George, Byars, and Smith. Gotta be impressed with the fact that four Heisman Trophies are in that list...

I know there's some heat with this, but I'd take MoC over Smith or Byars, and possibly over George. I'd rather the team have an NC than a back with a Heisman.

Had to go with Archie and Eddie, with Byars just missing out, and 1 year not being enough for MoC to get serious consideration. Hop was an amazing all-around player, but I haven't seen enough old games to fairly rate him.

Tough poll...but I had to go with the Heisman Winners....Eddie and Archie....great players and great role models off the field as well.
