This is great stuff....it reminds me of something.
I was thinking about clipping my fingernails. Sometime when they get too long it makes it harder to type....but if I cut them too short the boogers in the back of my nose are next to impossible to reach, short of using a q-tip. Since q-tips don't have the ability to "scoop" like a fingernail does, I am in a bit of a pickle. I could post a poll about this, but bkb would probably abstain, leaving me without a definitive answer....which would put me right back at the beginning of this post.
I think I'll go look around Findlay for a lemonade stand.

Just for the record, I think those conspiracy theories are retarded, as do most Michigan fans. Remember, the kinds of folk who follow recruiting (especially those for pay for info) tend to be the lunatic fringe of a fanbase. Present company excluded, of course.

Some may be reasonable enough to discount this absurd conspiracy. There are a laundry list of others that GBW clutches to: intentially poor footing, special spikes, burgess arrest, bomb dogs II, etc.

The way I see it Tress shouldn't have even been allowed to Vote.
He was stuck between a rock and a hard place and chose to just sit there, smart move. He picks Florida then scUM starts whining even more than they are now and everyone says he's looking for the easy way out and is afraid of TTUN. If he picks TTUN, suddenly everyone remembers that he's beaten them 3 years in a row and accuses him of taking the easy way out. On top of that he gives Urban Meyer a speech for his kids "they don't think you deserve to be here, you show them wrong, rawr!" to help motivate them.
He did the right thing, a lot of people agree, a lot don't but any decision he made was going to be wrong. If Llllloyd Carr wants to make a big conspiracy about it he can. By now you would think he realizes that unless you go through your season un-defeated then odds are you're not going to the big game, granted this year was a little different but the rule has ALWYAS been "finish undefeated."

I don't see what the big deal with Tress abstaining is either. Even if he had voted, he would've just told everyone he voted Texas #1. 
In all seriousness though, couldn't he have voted Michigan and Florida both #2 and left #3 blank on his ballot? Didn't Joe Pa vote USC and LSU #1 while leaving the #2 spot blank on his ballot in 2003?
