What I don't want to see...
Again, I am a UM fan/alum, just to give my comments the proper perspective, and everything I say is in complete and total seriousness.
I don't want to see a bunch of sappy posts about how Florida fought hard and was the better team and all that rubbish. I realize that's considered the "classy" thing to do and all that, but it's horse [censored] (if you will excuse my language). USC beat the crap out of Michigan because USC was a better team and Michigan was intimidated. Florida didn't beat OSU. OSU lost this game. I used to believe in the whole "the better team wins the game" argument, but sometimes that's not true. Sometimes, the better team loses the game. This is one of those times. I don't want to sound like a bastard here or anything, but the only thing tonight's game proved is that Troy Smith is no Vince Young. Vince Young would have been slapping helmets on the sideline, and he would have willed his team to the comeback win. I didn't see any of that from Troy Smith. Not that this game hangs on him at all. It was a team (lack of) effort. OSU lost the game. Florida is not as good a team as OSU is, and they had no business scoring 41pts on you. They are not good enough to score 41 points on your defense when your defense is playing its game. Florida's defense is not good enough to hold your offense to 14/7 points when your offense is playing its game. Florida did not win this game. OSU lost. Florida doesn't deserve "their props". All they did was keep from losing a game that your boys handed to them. And their dip[censored] fans certainly don't deserve an ounce of respect from you. You are a bunch of angry, passionate, crazy fans. Florida fans are just mindless, ignorant dip[censored]s. You have a passion that Florida fans just cannot match. Don't forget that. Act like OSU fans. |

nah you got it wrong.
Florida IS a good team. They would NOT have gotten through the SEC if they weren't a good team. Are they 27 points better? Probably not, but the fact of the matter is they did more to WIN this game than OSU did to lose it. Florida was physical - they "out-physicaled" Ohio State for the first time since at least the Penn State game in 2005 and even that wasn't nearly as one-sided. Florida's game plan worked perfectly for them on offense and for whatever reason, Ohio State didn't adapt very well. The better team TONIGHT, won TONIGHT. That's all that matters. It's over and done with though. However, I will agree about the fans. Ohio State fans are by and large the best fans on the planet. Florida fans, outside of a scant few exceptions, suck. Go Bucks. |

I hate that damn word.
![]() I think you'll be hard pressed to find anybody saying we lost that game and UF didn't win it. We got our butts whooped, plain and simple. You can't spray a turd with perfume and hope it smells pretty. |

The team that beat Michigan would not have lost to Florida.

Certainly by the way they played tonight it's hard to make the argument that Michigan could beat Florida..... |

Dude, you need to lose some letters from your user name.
"TheyCallMeAss" would be plenty enough. We here are good enough fans to know that we got it handed to us tonight. We're not looking for excuses. Don't let the door hit you in the "ass" on the way out. |

Your team played like [censored] tonight. People seem to be going nuts to give Florida their props, but the simple fact is that your team would have kicked Florida in the nuts if they had played like they did all season. Bottom line. |

Florida TOOK what they were playing for. Ohio State didn't hand it too them. Florida could've folded when it was 7-0. Florida could've tightened up when Ohio State got to 21-14. But they didn't. Florida WON the game. Strategy and tactics can be discussed and debated, but the ONLY basic conclusion to be reached is that Florida WON the game. Saying anything else is just making an excuse. That's not Ohio State's style nor Jim Tressel's nor Troy Smith's..... If you need further proof of this, go to ESPN.com and watch the Buckeye reaction video. |

You call me delusional, but YOU'RE the one who apparently didn't see any difference between the OSU that racked up a perfect record against extremely tough competition, who beat the then-#1 and the then-#2 teams, then choked against a good-but-not-great Florida team. I understand the desire to "not make excuses", but there are no excuses being offered. Your team choked. Plain and simple. Bottom line. Case Closed. Period. |

The "bottom line" is that we beat you, and you pretty much ended up not being a great team this season. We lost to Florida. We can get over it. Who cares what you think. |

I honestly can't agree here, even a little bit.
To suggest we choked is to suggest that Florida isn't a worthy national champion. And I find that a horrible injustice. Florida played like a championship team when it mattered most. How they got to that point is less important than what they did with it. The Gators have everything to celebrate, and I for one offer congrats on what was nearly flawless execution from start to finish. Even if we choked, Florida WON that game on their own merits. Not giving credit where credit is due is a chronic ailment I've seen over at umgoblue. Maybe I'm less for it somehow, but when the team I love is flat beat by way of good football, then I find respect for those who did it. I think no less of our offense or team now than I did before the game. A pure process of elimination leaves me with tremendous respect for what Florida pulled off. Would Florida win 2 out of 3? I have no idea. Would they have won had we played the week after Michigan? No idea. Could they beat USC, Michigan, or even Boise State? I suspect yes, yes, and hell yes -- but NONE of that matters. The Gators are the national champions, and they did what no one else could (including 2 other #2 teams) this season, beat the Buckeyes, and beat them convincingly. |
