DDOTT could go either way
What would you rather have?

Many times you hear players say that they would rather have lost by a blow out than by a close game.

I know no one wants to see to their team take an "L", but considering last nights "Debacle in the Desert" I would rather lose a close game.

Last night we did not see our teams best effort for whatever reason is out there.

The only drawback from losing a close game is instead of being embarrased I would be [censored]ed off like I was last year after the Texas game.

When Sports Illustrated starts the add for the BCS champion I will immediately turn the channel.

I really prefer close loses, I feel like [censored] either way, but with a close loss at least you know that the guys played their best. Instead of just being depressed today I was also [censored]ed off, because of the horrible play calling and the lack of production.

Close games suck, but blow-outs suck even more.

I would have felt better with a close game than the blowout that happened.
I could not believe i was in bed by the middle of the 4th quarter. Thats how low I was feeling. I hope I can get over this in a few days.

I would take a close loss for sure....at least a close loss allows us to feel like our team showed up, and earned the respect of Florida, the nation, and everyone who watched....

What happened last night has instead caused the entire Florida team to have 0 respect for our team. It has also caused all fans of college football to wonder how overrated we may be. It also puts a black mark on the Big 10.

All losses suck...but blowouts are just humiliating. Had we lost by a touchdown or a field goal last night, Florida would have given us our due...but instead, we earned nothing.

Close loss, definitely. Troy Smith going out w/ the crappiest game by an OSU QB in decades is NOT the way he should be remembered.

My thoughts exactly, I'm afraid he will suffer the effects of this for many years.

Buckeye fans in general are pretty forgiving. This loss will sting for awhile, but I think 20 years from now we'll still be talking about Troy's 3 big wins against Michigan rather than this defeat. At least I hope so.

In a national title game... Anything short of a win is disappointing.. But I've got one hell of a basketball team to look forward to!!!!!!!! So I'm pretty forgiving AND we still beat Michigan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-The cleanest feeling after a loss is when you played balls out and still were blown away. Absolutely no hangover from that, just take the ass beating like a man and move on. We don't get this one much at OSU but FSU in the '98 Sugar Bowl is the closest I can recall off the top of my head.

-Next "best" would be great effort but just a little short a-la Texas 2005. You can be proud, but the "what if's" linger.

-Playing poorly and getting drilled for it would be the next ring of hell for me on this scale. See last night or Iowa 2004. Feels like you got mugged by a mime.

-The worst feeling in the world for me personally is to play like [censored] and lose a close one. [censored]ing up a million things and still having chances to win is just haunting...it will eat at you forever. scUM 1969 or MSU '98 come to mind.

I would rather have a close game. It hurt watching them play, because it almost seemed like they didn't play balls to the walls, like they have all season. I think as long as your team is out there giving their 110% You can't ask for much more than that even if the game is a blow out. But, I would prefer a close loss. Ala, Texas last year.

I guess I'm the lone one here who would rather have the blow out. Those close games eat you forever. I still think about "The Drive" and "The Fumble" as a Browns fan. I still think about Hamby bobbling that TD against Texas. Those kind of losses just don't go away. This one is almost out of my mind already. I think over time, I'll remember the thrill of TGII's kick return more than any other moment of this game. I'd rather have that memory than that kind that stabs you in the heart every time you think about it.
