We put this on my brothers "big toe" 30 minutes after lights out and the arc / flash fully lit the room, boom!! a 2nd time for a few seconds.....Did not even awake the big guy!!!.The following morning he refused to believe we actually used this on him......until he witnessed the welts / burn marks. Thank GOD these recruiting trips are past history!!!

JT's story of his fraternity intramural wrestling experience was a "classic" which clearly displayed his dedication & sacrifice to be victorious in any competitive challenge that stood in his path (After hearing this story it was obvious why he and his players are continually succeeding in the game of football & the game of "life")

Thanks X for the story, very funny stuff, sounds like GG's dad was hibernating, not sleeping. By the way GG did not get his dad's sleep disorder did he, if so he may not be the most popular roomate, on the other hand after tolerating his fathers sawing logs, GG should be able to sleep through his roomates snoring. Get him a sign for camp and his roomate "snore at your own peril"

No snoring for GG. A little sleep walking once in a full moon however. And yes Garrett could sleep in a bowling alley durring women leagues!!!!

Montini rolls through the field at SCC meet

Forget stopping Montini.

The Broncos lost just 1 match as they cruised past the competition during Saturday's Suburban Catholic Conference Mega Duals wrestling meet at St. Edward. The meet, which acts as a conference meet but has each of the teams square off in dual format instead of using a tournament, was a Montini showcase.

The Broncos defeated host St. Edward 80-0, Marian Central 84-0, Aurora Central Catholic 78-0, Driscoll 77-0 and Marmion 64-3.

"We had a really good effort," Broncos' coach Mike Bukovsky said. "We wanted to make sure we came out focused. Garrett kept rolling."

Heavyweight Garrett Goebel certainly did.

The senior, who has inked to play football with Ohio State in the fall, went a perfect 5-0 on the day securing pins against St. Edward's Shane Finnane (0:36), Marmion's Connor English (0:38) and Marian Central's Cody O'Neill (0:43). Goebel, who is the No. 1 heavyweight according to illinoismatmen.com, also picked up a pair of forfeits against Driscoll and Aurora Central Catholic. The senior's efforts allowed him to secure the conference MVP, which was awarded after the meet.

"Coming in here our goal was to win the conference," Goebel said. "All of our guys stayed focused throughout the day. We had a lot of guys step up."

Montini's parade of nine wrestlers to the top of the medal stand punctuated its team dominance at this year's Class AA Willowbrook regional, but those titles didn't come easy.

"Last year, we had five or six individuals that were amazing," said Montini's Dan Stelter. "This year we just kind of grind things out and we win the close ones."

Montini outpointed second-place Hinsdale Central 244-115.5, with Hinsdale South third with 108 points.

The most dominant wrestler of the tournament ended the night, as Montini heavyweight Garrett Goebel won his title by posting pins just 48, 16, and 28 seconds into his three matches.

Has he given any thought to wrestling for OSU? I know it would be pretty difficult with the timing of the seasons, but I would hate to see his wrestling abilities go untouched (other than in football, of course).
