Agreed. Brown is the #1 LB in the country, IMO. His film is unreal.

Although Sabino is one of the top 5-10 LB's I would guess.

Major showed tOSU some interest last year but the Bucks did not. I wonder why? Sabino is pretty versatile. He would look great in a Buckeye uniform!

Agreed...I like Sabino a bit more than Major but I think Brown is light years ahead of the rest of the LB's in this class. Filer I would also put above Sabino and Bradham may be in the area (though recruiting analyst would say he is right there with Brown...bs). Sabino is tough but he may not even be the best in Florida with Robinson, Futch, and Bradham all reppin' the sunshine state. I personally think Robinson is way underrated and is the top LB in the state...anywho, back to Sabino. I will be more than happy if Sabino becomes a Buckeye.

Linebacker Etienne Sabino of Dr. Michael M. Krop High in Miami has narrowed the list of schools he is considering to Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, Ohio State and Southern Cal.

Sabino said Tech?s current two-game losing skid has done little to dampen his enthusiasm for the Jackets.

?You want to go to a winning program, but everybody is going to have an off day,? Sabino said. ?You can?t judge a team by one or two games.?

Sabino, who visited Southern Cal earlier this month and will attempt to attend a Tech game at Bobby Dodd Stadium this fall, witnessed Florida?s recent victory over Tennessee.

?It was good,? Sabino said of the visit to Gainesville. ?But all game day experiences are good. I enjoyed the trip.?

From the OSU site...talks about his season so far and says he is grateful for the opportunity to go through the recruiting experience. Talks about why he wants to visit OSU and says he will commit whenever the timing is right.

I really would like to lock up Sabino. It would be great to get a top tier player from South Florida. Even though we have done extremly well with the likes of Santonio Holmes and Chris Gamble.... we seem to miss out on a lot of those guys to Miami, Florida and SEC.

I agree that it would be great to get Sabino and meaningful to pull another good recruit from S. Florida.

Lately, we've done pretty well to pull 1 or 2 very good recruits a year from FL, including Scott and Rolle who were great recruits. And don't forget the fearless leader of 2008, Mr. BrewCrew. There also haven't been many "SEC-sized" recruiting classes where we can take chances on 1-2 more recruits from FL for the sake of expading our recruiting reach. I'm just saying that, for a midwestern school with obvious weather and cultural differences from S. Florida, we've done a pretty good job to pull talent north.

I don't disagree with you... but, being that I lived in Miami for 4 years.. It's kind of a different perspective of what South Florida Football is. South Florida is like Deonte Thompson from Belle Glade or Major Wright from St. Aquinas. James Scott is from Daytona which is Central Florida, Rolle is from Immokalee which is West... and Brew is obviously from O-Town. I'd like to get in the Miami Norhtwesterns, St. Aquinass, Paces, and continue at Dillard and Belle Glade.

Nate Salley was from St. Aquinas. Wright nearly became the second safety to come here, but admissions didn't help things.

How bad are the Miami area high schools? Academics wise?
Could that be a reason for our seeming lack of success in that area?

There is so much talent in South Florida...it shouldn't be legal. That is why the FL schools do so well. They either go to Miami, Florida or FSU. If not to one of these three, its to one of the other SEC schools. This is also the reason some of the smaller south Florida schools are doing so well lately. It isn't a fluke that a smaller South Florida college is doing well lately and the others are coming on. You could almost start a conference for the FL schools and they would be pretty competitve.

Aquinas, Northwestern are always top noch programs. Dillard and Belle Glade are not as good, but they always seem to have talent. Miami doesn't even have to go outside of the Miami-Dade/Broward area to recruit players if it didn't want to.
