Let's see, Ohio State had 462 yards of total offense and Michigan had 274. I'll agree with the "just enough offense" jab when the Bucks win 13-10, but a 21 point victory with no points scored by the defense? CFN goes downhill fast when anyone other than Fiutak writes.

No kidding. CFN is one of the best sites ever created, but attempting to provide analysis to every game played is bound to have its limitations. You have just illustrated one instance.

CFN is the best college football site out there. They appear impartial and each writer has his own style. For the most part, they're pretty fair regarding the Bucks. Some, maybe Pete, appear to see the Bucks as a well coached team rather than a lucky team, if that makes any sense.

Like Johnny said, it's tough to do every game.

You guys just don't get it...we struggled to a 10-3 halftime lead while Michigan blew out to a 10-0 halftime lead. And Michigan only got six more more turnovers than Miami, while we were so stingy that we only gave the ball away three more times than Cincinnati. Michigan averaged a gaudy 3.9 ypp for the game against that vaunted Miami defense, while we struggled with a mere 6.3 ypp against a team coached by a guy who knows nothing about defenses.

Yes, it is tough to cover every game, but that's what the site sets out to do. Don't get me wrong, I love CFN. And they typically have some of the best coverage out there, particularly from Fiutak, in my opinion. That's what makes it disappointing when they pull a Dennis Dodd out of their asses.

If anything, the storyline should have been OSU's relative offensive explosion (and Michigan's offensive dud, benefitting from the turnover bonanza).

Yeah I'm alittle tired of the critics saying stuff about Ohio State when they don't even watch the game, but its going to happen unfortunatly. OSU's performance is far better than Michigans but you know when a Critic see's 40 some odd points they automatically think damn that was an ass whipp'n from hell. The thing I think they should do with Ohio States is Look at the point difference (21 points) to an Ohio State fan thats also an ass beating because well we never see a game beyond 7 points anyways.

Who Else is going to Watch Michigan V. Notre Dame This weekend before our buckeyes??? (We'll see just how good they are) against a sad Notre Dame team.

The National persona of TOSU is that we will always be the "Scarlet-Headed Step Child" of CFB. Why? Who the hell knows, and I don't really give a [censored]. This is a young, promising team right now. Obviously, the fact that this school has won 26 out of its past 28 games impresses nobody. Its the best CFB program over the past 50 years, and the future looks to be just as good, if not better.

Let the National Media harp on Miami, scUM, Florida State, USC, LSU, Texas, and all the other media darlings. The only [censored]er is that pollsters are affected by what they read because they can't see all the teams play every week.

Not many people thought we "belonged" in 2002. Let this team play its games and make its mark. By the time it's over, I think it will be one hell of a mark.

I agree with everybody but I will bring up a valid point. If we win another BCS game and/or NC it's gonna change some people opinions. Success, no matter the manner in which it happens will turn the tide. If we can win a NC in the next three years we will be considered a top 3 program. Personally I think we are already there.

If we stomp Marshall like a cockroach and beat NcSt by two td's we will turn heads. Everybody is used to us barely winning or letting it go to the wire. What if our Buckeyes start handing teams their asses? People will take notice. IMO the greatest fear of all BIG TEN teams is if OSU finds an offense. We will be great in all three phases of the game and have no true weakness.

This year our offense is gonna be better than we have ever seen since Tressel has been here. IMO he learned a lesson in the Michigan game last year. The reason I believe this is because of the play calling in the Fiesta Bowl.

If our offense can improve throughout the year IMO we will compete for the NC. If we score 28 or more points I don't see anybody beating us. Our defense might be the best we have had under Tressel and thats saying alot.

These early season games are the ones that worry me, our team is SOOO young, but SOOO talented.. IMO if we can get to michigan and still be undefeated I doubt anyone can touch us as these guys will all be veterans and SCARY good..

It's just a lazy writer didn't look past the box score. I'll admit when I first saw the scUM score come across the screen I thought the weasels had put a real beating on MiamiO. Once I saw the stats breakdown and game summaries, I realized that it had been a much more hard-fought game.

Take the turnovers out of those two games, and the storyline becomes scUM struggles with a MAC power, and Tressel trounces former assistant.

I'd agree with that as far as the Michigan game goes; you look at a 43-10 score and assume it was an ass-whoopin' if you didn't see the game. But what I don't get is this: how does a lazy writer look at a 27-6 box score and conclude that the team with 27 points had barely enough offense to get by?

Nothing -- not Clarett, not the NY Times, not Irizarry and Guilford -- nothing hurts us as much as the annual whuppings we took from scUM toward the end of the last century. Tressel's 2-1 against them is a great start, but we'll have to beat them regularly on our way to the NC game to overcome this negativity.

It's the most watched game tOSU plays, every single year, and for far too many years we lost it ...in front of the entire college-football-watching world. The conventional wisdom around the country -- everywhere but Columbus I guess -- is that tOSU looks great all year then loses to scUM. That's what most 20-30-something fans saw every year growing up.
