OSU on the road under JT
I'm over Marshall and Cincy already. This week is the one I think most of us have been looking at as the barometer for early 2004 all summer. This will be only the 3rd time we have played an OOC foe on the road(if you count Cincy '02) so I thought I would look up exactly what we have done under JT away from Columbus.
Total road games '01-'03: 14 W/L record: 10-4 (.714) Points for: 306 Against: 253 Average score: 22-18 OOC on the road '01 @ UCLA L 6-13 '02 @ UC W 23-19 Just shows what we all know, we struggle on the road and will be happy to take a W out of NCSU no matter how ugly it may come(and based on everything we know to date, it will be ugly). |

I like the fact though, that this game is coming right after Marshall. I think we're gonna see a steady dose of the same type of football, but perhaps with more deep balls. I'm hoping that Tressel, Snyder, and crew make the appropriate adjustments following the Marshall game to fix what went wrong.

(probably need to merge this into the NCSU game thread)
I agree. I think NCSU and MU are very similar in scheme but NCSU has better athletes and depth. I am not so sure NCSU's QB is better than Stan Hill however. I still think us having two games under our belts vs NCSU's one glorified scrimmage is an advantage for OSU, especially early. NCSU will take a while to adjust to the game speed they will see from us, there is just no way to avoid it. The running game and all phases of punting must improve but the bottom line is the TO situation. We won't win @ Carter-Finley with a negative number in that column this week. |

I like this NCState game following a week that our defense was not as sharp as it has been in the past. Yes I know the points given up and the yards were good but it did not seem like they played with passion. So give the Bucks a week of Snyder, Fickell, Heacock, and Tucker pounded this into the Bucks and really working them this week and most importantly having their attention and I think we get a win. 31-10...

Sorry if this info is in another thread, but how many starts does the NCSU QB have? Is this his first against a D1A team? How odd if it turns out that we have the more experienced QB.
