Last year when a team ahead of us in the polls lost, their drop stopped just in front of us. If a team behind us had a big week. they would jump ahead of us. I'm not aying we deserve better than 9, but the trend continues.

There is no way that a team like Florida State should be ahead of the Buckeyes. I know Miami is a hell of a lot better than Marshall. But we won and they did not. If you want to put West Virginia ahead that's fine, but West Virginia doesn't really play anybody. Marshall and Cincinnati are not cupcakes. Purdue and Minnesota are getting no respect as well. Purdue ranked BEHIND Michigan??? Well that will likely change if Purdue can knock of Notre Dame like they should. I would hope that if Ohio State beats NC State next week we would jump over Florida State. But when you have played one game and lost you do not deserve to be in the top 10. All you have to judge that team on is that one game, and they lost. Wait until they prove they are a top 10 team to put them back up in the top 10. Don't just keep them there because they were "supposed" to be good.
And I just realized this. How in the world can Troy still have less votes than Missouri. They beat a Marshall team that hung with Ohio State and they killed Missouri, who was supposed to contend for a Big 12 championship. I guess beating a ranked team and a mid-major powerhouse isn't enough. And remember the polls are huge in the BCS this year. Each with 1/3 weight. Each vote in these polls means a lot. |

What if college football were judged like gymnastics? Oh wait. It is.
![]() "Well, Trev. Ohio State really executed that passing game well, but they couldn't stick the running game, which is going to cost them a few tenths. The degree of difficulty on that game wasn't very high, and the judges have seen this routine from them before. I'd give it an 8.6" We should have a playoff in December of all conference winners (drop Sun Belt back to 1AA where they belong), with a title game in January, plus some consolation bowls for the various conference runners up. Let the polls continue to be arbitrary beauty contests for balding sportswriters and graduate assistants. Just my $.02. ![]() |

what an absolute bunch of uneducated....south loving... [censored]ing inbred pieces of [censored]ing [censored].....
the problem is....sportswriters have become as bad as attorney's....they no longer give a [censored] about the quality of their work....just the results.....both professions left integrity behind..... jokes.... look at cfn's poll... http://collegefootballnews.com/2004/...N_Rankings.htm |

because they beat down on lesser competition. we struggled to beat marshall.
in other words.....its not enough to win....you have to win by 40 regardless of your offensive style. |

Ok, that CFN poll ticks me off. I know we didn't look so great yesterday but ^%$# it we won. Those scUM bags up north are ranked above us and they lost to ND....ND for Lord's sake. They haven't had a real team in at least 3 years(IMHO).

good point BN27.......I still dont understand why FSU is still ahead of us though. Plus, if you compare the AP to the coaches, there is a lot of difference to the two polls.
