Turnovers
There is a lot of frustration on this board right now, and a lot of it I share. I don't believe in blaming refs for wins and losses, but turnovers is the reason we lost the game. Ohio State should be able to overcome these type of things and no Offensive touchdowns is always unacceptable, especially with the talent we should have. But just to look at things another way here it goes:
WR fumble down near the 20 yardline on a promising drive= Minus at least 3 Ohio State points Wisconsin Turnover that was over-ruled because a ref says he blew his whistle which is the type of BS that the replay rule was suppose to over turn. That is something that [censored]es me off and probably is another thread, but it took once again at least three points away from us and gave them to them as they scored a field goal on that drive. Santonio holmes muffed punt down on his own 10 or so yardline. Result Wisconsin touchdown. Results Wisconsin gained 10 points We lost 6 points Without these blunders Ohio State wins 19-14. Turnovers were huge in this game and a big part of why we lost. A part that has nothing to do with coaching, and everything to do with player/referee execution. |

This is why replay is BS.
You forgot about the Roy Hall fumble. That could have put us up by 17 points, if I recall correctly, and the offense was actually moving at that point. |

NOt to mention the phantom pass interference in the end zone. Looks like he was playing the ball to me...
http://www.the-ozone.net/photo_app/p...&SortOrder=ASC Anyone know how to get O-zone's pics to work? It's not letting me right click to copy the actual image here. |

If we are going to have instant replay - it has to include bogus pass interference call too. This can change a game as much as a turnover.
On another note - I heard the T.V. announcers mention that JT and Alvarez have been lobbying hard for more holding penalties to be called. |

Big Ten officiating is horrible...always has been, always will be. Sometimes the calls go your way, and sometimes they don't. I'm sure Tressel and Alvarez want more holding called...until they go to the film room, and realize their offensive lines do the same things as everyone elses's, because whatever you can get away with, you will.
Replay is probably a stupid idea, because it doesn't seem like they can use it effectively. That said, one can and should never be able to review a penalty, or we'd either be at the stadium for 38 hours, or there would never be a penalty of any kind called ever. We've had our share of these calls go our way the past few years, and Saturday we didn't. Personally, I don't think it cost us the game, because we didn't play well enough to win, though the "quick whistles" is really f'ing annoying. |

Dump the replay period. Anyone that thinks the officials are going look bad on a replay call unless it absolutley cannot be avoided is only fooling themselves.
The whistle deal on Saturday was the only ASS covering call that they could make so they make it. Get rid of the replay altogether so they can't try to make the fan look as stupid as the officials think they are. |
