What other Sophs will go pro? (Leinart? Williams?)

If I'm Pete Carrol I'm not too happy about Mr. Clarett's ruling. Lefty Leinart had a better showing last year than Carson Palmer did his senior year and I watched Williams play a few times as well and the guy looks like a stallion. I think they could both go bye-bye. In fact, I hope they do.

PC, Chow & Co. would have to put it together again with a new QB and fresh recievers and frankly I don't think he would be so lucky twice. I think Cal looks pretty tough out there if they can get some production from their D.

If I ran ESPN I'd run a nasty article about how USC is going to have a bunch of unproven talent next year thanks to Judge Sheindlen. (That would be a nice change of pace.)

Some of my future guesses:

Leak has one more year- maybe... (UF)
Cromartie has one more year. (FSU)
Crowder has one more year. (UF)
Justin Vincent one more year. (LSU)
Adrian Peterson maybe 2 years. (Oklahoma)

Tanqueray Teddy G will wait until after his junior year (I hope *I know it's not pronounced like the juniper berry based drink- but I couldn't help myself).

If this ruling holds up in the Courts, I don't know that it will have that much of an affect on CFB as we know it. At this point,I'd say it's 50/50 that Clarett declares for the draft if allowed to. Larry Fitzgerald is without a doubt gonna be gone at Pitt.

The NFL is a completely different animal professionally than is the NBAor MLB or the NHL. Football is a game of constant contact. How many truly impact rookies do you see in the NFL every year who have completed 4 years of college and are 22-23 years old? Very few.

I truly feel sorry for MC if he opts for the NFL. For one, The kid hasn't had a full season of injury-free football since he was in 9th grade. Second, he'll be lucky to be drafted in the first three rounds. His dollar value will be nothing compared to what it might be if he could show durability in College.

To answer the question, NO other sophs will try and go pro. Most of these "kids" are surrounded by enough intelligent people to know that 19 & 20 year olds do NOT belong in the NFL. JMO of course.

Definitely agree on MoC probably benifiting draft-status-wise from another year of college ball. But his name recognition is off the charts and he could definitely do commercials for Gatorade or Coca Cola or Gilette or Pepsi or Amazon.com or Microsoft or something, anything. He's probably the most recognized college football player right now, or anytime since Bo Jackson in my estimation. He's had lots of publicity.

slickman;

You are assuming that these companies are going to want
to be associated with MoC. Recognition can be bad, also.
A 3rd rd. pick sitting on the bench, looking for someone
to sue.

MoC has had a lot of pub. however most of it was negative... he can turn his ship around, however a solid year in college could help him in the draft as far as durability is concerned as well has showing he is a good kid, and a good charecter kid... this could also help his marketability concerning the commercials/sponsor income as well...
