I too am not too sure of the offer, but he apparently had a very nice Friday night Lights camp over at the UofFlorida as a Wide Receiver. Pretty good size, decent speed, but seems to have a very good attitude about things. Wouldn't mind seeing how this all plays out.

From a very solid source, Orhian Johnson's offer is now legit and written.

Orhian Johnson picking up some speed over the summer! He has been a track champion since he was little. Looks like he was in the same Track Club as Marquis Gray at one time. They competed in the Junior olympics and AAu when they were little.
![]() Highlight Video #1 QB/DB I think this is right. The date on the video is recent. Edit: But note that the video title rolls a s Orion Harris who is trying out for a spot on the Browns????? But I think they just made a err on the tape! Last edited by EastSide; 08-13-2007 at 12:31 PM. |

He could be a HUGE Taylor Mays-esque safety. We seem to have a good history of moving athlete quarterbacks to the defensive backfield, so I like this offer. Imagine Johnson at strong safety and Cordale Scott at free. Tallest starting safeties in college football four years from now?

Wow.....that video showed several things.....
- He has great feet and pocket presence - He can make pretty much any throw; from timing routes to throws on the run -Very solid mechanics at this stage - Has the ability to scramble...yet he wasn't "run first" at the first sign of pressure - Good arm strength He fits the "Speed" and "Big Speed" categories and is a very athletic QB that could come in and play a number of positions, (e.g. Rocco Pentello, Ted Ginn Jr., Jermale Hines, Dane Sanzenbacher, Grant Schwartz, Brian Hartline, etc) This kid, with his size, could actually come in and play almost anywhere outside of interior OL/DL!! Love the offer!! Last edited by dozerbuck; 08-13-2007 at 09:24 AM. Reason: spelling |

Ledge-dwellers meltdown about Pryor (as a result of this offer, which in reality has nothing to do with Pryor) in 3...2...1...

What a great find by the staff!! Just think...bring in the kid as an athlete....and just wait to see where his best position would be.
The name Paul Thompson keeps ringing in my head, the Oklahoma QB that was a WR receiver until he was called upon to step up for his team after Rhett Bomar was, to put it mildly, dropped from the roster |

Tall, athletic guy with grades. Could play any number of positions.

I'd like to see some more (and better) film of him at defense. Love his size and athletic ability.

From watching the film, I doubt Johnson ends up at QB at the next level. I see him at SS...I think that he moves well in the pocket but I think his arm strength is about average. He seems fairly accurate and has decent running ability. I love him on the defensive side of the ball though...great instincts, ball speed, skill, size, and seems very deceptive.

Now I have to wonder... out of those offers - How does he pick someone else? I mean South Florida maybe? Their program is on the rise.

You are assuming that he gets no further offers between now and NLOID, a doubtful proposition.
