In the video it said he is a Sophomore; although some of those measurables may not seem impressive (4.71 40 and shuttle, 27" vert, and 150 x 30), there will be a tremendous amount of growth for him in the next two or three years. The most impressive thing about the video is his athletic ability in the drop/coverage drills. He looks to have the footwork, hips and athleticism of a much more mature player.

I wholeheartedly echo your sentiments. Jordan looks like he is going to be VERY good for us at the WILL LB spot. He is such a beast right now, I can't wait to see how he matures and develops as a player and a human being.

Shamrocks roll to 6-A semifinals

Trinity High School has produced some of the top quarterbacks in Kentucky through the years. The list begins with All-State selections Jeff Brohm, Brian Brohm and Nick Petrino.

Last night Will Stein topped them all.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association unveiled a new six-class system for high school football this season.ut even a new system couldn?t keep a familiar visitor out of the championship game of the largest classification in the Bluegrass State.

Trinity is back again.

The 17-time state champion Shamrocks made it to the final for the seventh time in the past eight seasons last night after clubbing Boone County 56-21 before about 8,000 fans at Harry Jansing Field in the Class 6-A semifinals.

After winning the last two 4-A state championships and five in coach Bob Beatty?s first seven years, the Shamrocks stormed back into the final.

Trinity (12-2) has now won nine straight games and scored 41 or more points in each of those contests.

?All week we prepared and prepared and prepared,? linebacker Jordan Whiting said. ?They caught us with our eyes kind of shut. Eventually, we were comfortable with the scheme they were playing.?

And the Shamrocks took over.

Trinity forced a punt on the next Boone County possession and after another TD, Whiting came up with an interception for the Shamrocks.

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
Records: St. Xavier 14-0; Trinity 12-2

Rich get richer: Trinity has a state-record 17 titles. St. X has 11. They?ve combined to win 16 of the last 22 big-school championships. This is the 10th time Mike Glaser has guided St. X to the finals, and he is going for his seventh title. In his eighth year as Trinity coach, Bob Beatty has the Shamrocks in the finals for the seventh time and he?s seeking his sixth championship.

Rivalry renewed: This will be the 65th game between the superpowers. St. X holds a 33-29-2 in the series that began in 1956. The Tigers beat Trinity 25-14 during the regular season. But remember 2005 ? St. X won the regular-season meeting, but Trinity won the rematch in the state finals.
St. X leaders: QB Ben Zoeller has passed for 960 yards, 8 TDs, and run for 617 yards, 9 TDs. RB Deuce Finch has rushed for 1,418 yards, 15 TDs. WR Will Simmons has 31 catches, 610 yards, 6 TDs. Nate Combs? 95 solo tackles lead the defense.

Trinity leaders: QB Will Stein has thrown for 3,497 yards and a school-record 52 TDs. The Dutton twins ? Alex and Nathan ? have combined for 146 catches, 2,264 yards, 33 TDs. RB Tim Phillips has run for 1,696 yards, 27 TDs. Junior LB Jordan Whiting, who has committed to Ohio State, leads the Rocks? defense with 93 solo tackles.

Key to victory: St. X can?t get into a scoring match with Trinity. The Tigers need to control the ball, and put some serious heat on Stein.

Trinity High School's three-peat repeat is complete -- only this time it took overtime.

"This time it took the whole Trinity program, all 130 players, even the guys on the sidelines and everybody in the community," said Jordan Whiting, Weitlauf's sidekick at linebacker. "This is so unbelievable."

On defense, linebackers Wes Weitlauf (6-0, 210) and junior Jordan Whiting (6-1, 220) were sensational. Weitlauf, who carried 1-yard for the game-winning TD, led Trinity in tackles with eight and forced a fumble. He'll get a scholarship somewhere.

Whiting, who has already committed to Ohio State, led the Shamrocks with 111.5 tackles on the season. He also had two sacks and two interceptions.

Not to mentioned that there were about 4 games he only played the first half, due to the score being so lopsided. So 111.5 tackles is pretty good.
