He also won state in powerlifting this year as well and in Oklahoma he set a new national record for the teenage division with a deadlift of 545lbs.

Since you know the family here is my question in regards to Jordan:

If you notice the following statement:

Kentucky is already among the top choices for 2009 linebacker prospect Jordan Whiting of Trinity HS in Louisville. UK offered him at their summer camp and doesn't want him to bulk up too much.

1.) What was Jordan's response to this? Clearly, he loves working in the weightroom. Has he changed his workout routines & regimens to prevent getting to "bulky"?

OR

2.) Has he just ignored the UK staff's comments since he really doesn't plan to go there anyway and/or he doesn't feel his current workout will make him too bulky.

Jordan definitely passes the "look" test. Has he set any goals for a weight he would like to get to before heading to college assuming he plans on playing LB in college?

Thanks for your insight. He seems like an outstanding student and an excellent prospect. Being from a military family, I love seeing kids of former service members as Buckeyes. Best of luck to Jordan and his team this year.

Yes they offered, but the camp was to see where he was at compared to everyone else that plays LB. It was not intended for UK to make the offer it came as a big surprise.
He has only one thing on his mind and that is to become a "BUCKEYE". When he was at the OSU camp again it was just to see where he was at compared to everyone else out there. His father wanted him to get the experience of doing camps so he could see what he needed to work on, he has put in long hours trying to be one of the best high schoolers ever. His goal now is to continue to do what he has been doing and see where it takes him. I will also tell you this Hawk is his hero, he wants to be as good or better than Hawk was when he played at OSU.

Jordan goal is to play LB at OSU, his current weight is 225lbs, he does not want to leave high school weighing over 235lbs. As long as he keeps his speed he should not have a problem playing LB, there are some LB's that weigh over 250lbs and are fast as lighting, only time will tell for sure.

In regards to the first post, it appears the staff is well aware of Jordan and his desire to be a Buckeye. I am not sure when an offer is coming, but it could be soon, and we could be off to a VERY good start to 2009 before the 2008 is class is even finished. Although with soooo many LB prospects, it may take a bit for the staff to evaluate them all and offer the ones they want... or since we have so many 'ships for the c/o 2009 we could take cast a wider net and offer more guys than we usually do. We'll have to take a wait and see approach here, but needless to say, the 2009 will NOT be far off talent wise fro the this year's class.

Wow.. love hearing how much he admires Hawk, and his determination to leave OSU better than AJ.. That would put him in pretty high company...

Man, how many LBs we taken in 09?? Seven or Eight?? Geez, hopefully some of these boys bulk up and can play DLine.. cause I would hate to miss on any of them

Based on that interview, I think it's safe to say he's an OSU lean, but it's still very early in his recruitment. He sounds quite mature for his age as well.

Wow, talk about a pure monster. Man if we miss out on this kid i'm going to be pretty po'd. Sounds like he already loves OSU, and he is absolutely a monster at what 16. What also excites me is that he is that great and big and he is only just now going into his Junior year. That kid will be a stud so... ugh ya Tressel fire after him now, have him come to a game this year.. forget the 08 players lol.
