That kid's gonna be an excellent flanker/slot and a great kick/punt returner. He's a burner. Goodness.
Haven't paid too much attention to the '09 class yet, but this kid's got the video. What division is Painesville?

Loved what I saw...runs great routes and very reminiscent of Santonio Holmes in those regards. Very quick and dangerous with the ball in his hands. Decent top end speed but those moves and acceleration are his bread and butter. He also looks like he could be a return specialist as well. Agreed with Wad...I say he gets an early offer if his grades are in order. Also, what kind of competition does Painsville Harvey play?

He reminded me of Peter Warrick there.
Much shiftier than i expected from his soph video. One thing I did notice tho is that it almost looked as if he had a really bad running form. Perhaps his top end speed could change dramatically from better running from & butch reynolds...

Thanks Woody...the competition looked pretty weak but you can still see the talent is obviously there. (Tanski is another story but I think whoever takes a chance on him is going to be really happy they did so.) Hopefully Fields will hit the combine cicuit to prove himself though because combines can help you out big when you don't face any competition.

I'm not ususally a film guy, but here's my take from Chris' Rivals film: It obviously looks like he's got good speed relative to his competition, especially in his kickoff footage, but after Woody's post that comment is a FWIW observation. What he does show is a good ability to make quick moves in small spaces (one of the overriding criticisms of TGII this year) and get back to top speed. His lateral moves with "sqaured hips" are impressive and he looks like he can give ground and then move forward again as well as most of the best HS films out there. If he doesn't get an early offer based on underclassman film, I agree that camp will be the best place to prove his straight-line speed against the best, though his early speed tests (if remotely accurate) may be enough to prove that. IMO, with all of the screens in his film, his biggest questionmark may be his hands and point of attack skills. His film only shows a few catches in traffic/difficult grabs.

I coached against Fields this year. It was a nightmare trying to cover him. He is the best WR that I have ever seen in person at the prep level, and I have seen some real good ones come through northeast Ohio over the years.

Irrespective of the speed of the players he is going against, you can tell that he just has "it." I'm really skeptical of the idea that we shouldn't offer kids who go against supposedly weak competition based on their game film. If this were so, we should not have offered Ginn based on all those spectacular runs he made against players from the Senate League. Clearly, this would have been foolish. Based solely on his game film, there is no question that Fields is tOSU material.
