.:.Brutus.:., I was thinking the same thing you said in your beginning post here on this thread, after I watched sportscenter last night and earlier today. However, after reading some really great posts by NFBuck and Saw31, I stand corrected on my opinion. I don't feel we have anything to worry about. We just need to stay on track and have an undeafeted season this year. I have major respect for Coach Tressel. The only thing I wish he would've done different would have been to pick scUM for the National Championship Game last year instead of FL. That is all water under the bridge now, and with every experience comes some learning. I feel we are ready for any team and any coach this year.

I read this thread and some of these posts. And lets start by saying this team is still aways off from N.C. asperations. I loved the look on all those gay and blue ass whipes ass any, but they like every year were overrated. WE as fans need to concentrate on saturday and not the time when Tress can no longer get it done. Tress unlike Carr and Joe Pa knows how to adapt. Those losers up north being overrated wont rain on our parade one bit.

The media beat down of the Big Ten is a temporary fashion, something currently in style and subject to change with every season.
We screwed up in Jan. And we alone will have to live that down.
Michigan will have to live down "One of The Greatest Upsets in Sports".
Which situation would you really rather be in?

Wow, I've read that 5 times and now my brain hurts. I feel like I'm reading a Japanese cereal box that got translated into English by a Mexican.
Anyways, I agree that Tress will be able to adapt for a long time, if not his entire career. I'd argue that Joe Pa hasn't lost his edge though. He's still getting good recruits and putting together solid years. The entrance into the Big 10 has hurt him far more than his age. Love him or hate him, you HAVE to respect him in my opinion.
Now, that annoying lion roar, the stupid "WE ARE" "PENN STATE" cheer, the boring ass jerseys, and [censored]stick fans are entirely different stories.

With all the wit flying around lately its hard to keep up!! That said i agree for the most part although Joe Pa assistant has been more responsible for them transitioning with the times than Joe Pa himself. He has lost touch with a younger recruiting base, and is holding on to a time that has gone by long ago!!

In all honesty, when Sandusky left, I thought Joe Pa was done for. But, then he pulls a Big 10 championship out of nowhere in 2005. Go figure.
I certainly hope Joe Pa has it in him to catch Bowden though.

Let's not forget 'Ohio is a fake State' which still makes no sense.

Why do we as fans need to "concentrate on games week to week?" I am not preparing for this weeks opponent. As a fan I prepare for the season, and random speculation is what a fan is supposed to do. People that think that our S.O.S. doesnt matter and our biggest game and rival losing the first week against a far inferior opponent wont hurt us, are completely naive. The rankings do matter wether we like it or not. Ask LSU or Auburn if rankings don't matter. I know its early in the season but if michigan doesnt run the table besides us, a win against them doesnt mean as much for poll ballots, which incidently help get you into a national championship game as it is currently setup. Its not always good enough just to win all of your games anymore you have to do it with style and win over some voters, whom I might add dont really seem to know much of anything about football. So the title of this thread "is scums loss, bad for us in the long run?" I say yes. Its terrible for any team in the Big10. Not as bad as it is for them but bad nonetheless.
