They get bonus points for TShirts that read "Ohio State is for kickers", though.
of course, they immediately forfeit them when they make monuments out of a guard rail.

Don't forget, as punishment for off-field incidents this summer, the PSU team has to clean the stadium after every home game.
Pack truck loads of Bubblicious for this years game, people!

Which situation would you really rather be in?

Yanno - as beat downs go, the beat down that Nebraska put on us in Jan 96 was the worst I've seen. The " Hit her again, hit her again - harder harder" cheer I was able to start every time Lawrence Phillips took the field was small consolation.
Much better to be in the big game and come up short. Hell, props for being there offsets the loss. Losing to Appy State - however....

I forgot how much that was like "The Longest Yard - College-Style". Lawrence and the jail break crew were pretty good.

I completely second that consideration. I'd much rather be in the NC game than not.

It is really hard to believe Carr will return next year. Unless they run the deck, beat Ohio State and win BCS bowl game, he is finished.

For the coaching subject... I think Carrs' time was already very limited (2-3 seasons) barring a NC that I never saw happening anyway. There's very few coaches that worry me for MI. They can't just be a good coach, but they need to really get the rivalry too. Urban fits the bill, but I can't see him leaving a program that currently loves him to death.
We, as fans, got very lucky with Tressel -- and our State actually has all the coaching pipelines in place.
On the issue of national perspective of the B10. I suppose it could hurt us this year because we have no huge big-name OOC opponent. But whatever. For the future, we really do control our own destiny. If we beat USC next year or the year after -- it won't matter what the rest of the B10 is like. I could say the same for Texas the last 2 years. And whoever our epic matchups are after USC (I forget.)
Teams like PSU and Wiscy depend on B10 perception because it's not very often they have big-name opponents. Ohio State didn't corner themselves into that position.
