scUMs loss, bad for us in the long run?
I, like everyone on this forum, loved watching App. State dominate the team up north...then cap it off by doing the unthingable and actually winning the game.
I do have a question though... ( and I'm not trying to disrespect Coach Tressel at all and I love our Buckeyes as much as anyone! )
With Carr's recent record with us and Bowls...Then suffering the worst loss in what might be sports history... I'm pretty sure this is Carr's final year coaching the gays in blue.
Is this a bad thing?
Think about it... Carr is there John Cooper ( again no disrespect, but it is what it is...) Carr, like Coach Coop, was able to win about 10 wins a season... but couldn't win the final reg. season game and couldn't win a Bowl game.
scUM is going to do the same thing we did when we said good-bye to Coach Coop and welcomed Coach Tessel. I have faith that Coach Tressel is the best "college" coach in the NCAA and his record is because of himself not for a horrible Coaching issue up North.
I still love the fact that scUM lost ( even though they made the BIG 10 look horrible... ) But scUM is going to bring in a MUCH more talented coaching staff VERY, VERY shortly...
I guess that just means...New ass to kick!

Worrying about the future success of some unknown coach strikes me as highly ridiculous. I don't mean to poo poo your thread here, but I could give a rats ass who Michigan replaces Carr with. Why? Because who they have on their sidelines means little when OSU has Tressel on theirs. There may well come a day when Tress can't get it done... but, I don't see that day coming soon.

Sure it's too early to truly worry about such things, but I've had similar thoughts. However, their next hire might not produce either.
Either way, there are many inherent flaws that I will miss in the next coaching staff & program (check your inbox tomorrow morn, bkb). Whether those changes translate into more frequent wins remains to be seen.

Well, looking at who replaces Llloyd may seem ridiculous, but hey......that is what this and many of the threads are all about. Many of the threads look at "What If" and are mostly exercises in mental masturbation, and people's opinions. To wit, the very successful Texas vs. OSU thread. The entire recruiting thread - very little fact mixed in with much fantasy........
This might be a v-bet, which can turn fantasy into reality (and make a bit of change in the bargain). My money is on Les Miles leaving LSU and 'going home'.

Dont misunderstand.. speculation is all well and good... the thing I'm taking issue with is the "is it bad for OSU" vibe.

No. Next question.

It trumps all things because it's the Ohio State-M*ch*g*n game. And I would like to think our guys understand that, but there's only one demonstration of understanding that and that's at 12:00 noon on Saturday.
