We have what is considered a weak schedule, couple that with people not wanting to see an "over rated Ohio State team" blown out by another "invincible SEC powerhouse" and you can easily find ourself in a situation where the media will pump up CAL or Oregon, or who knows maybe even a USF, or one of those other 11 currently unbeaten teams while the weak big10 gets relegated to a lesser BCS bowl.
Can it happen, sure, but there are a lot of if's. Lets not go anointing ourselves 2 time NC winners with this current crop of guys just yet.

While I see your points I am not going to agree with them. If we run the table and another team from a BCS conference runs the table in addition to LSU or Cal, yes, I think that other team will get the nod. However, if there are two unbeatens, they will play each other, no matter how much media hype there is. tOSU was given no respect in 2002, people were saying they would rather a 1 loss team went so at least the game wouldn't be such a blowout, yet we went and we did our thing.
Sure, the hype helps, and yes people are looking at our conference as weak, however, if we win our games, and do what we do, hopefully the rest will work itself out.
There seems to be this idea that if we are unbeaten and USC or Cal is third with a loss they will get the nod over us, but that's why the BCS system is there, if there are two unbeaten teams from the six BCS conferences, they go to the big dance.
Either way, it's silly to be discussing this, we are halfway through the season with the real meat of our schedule coming up in a few weeks.

I agree with that last part completely, we're only half way through our schedule, lets not congratulate ourselves just yet. (let alone start talking about next year)
But for arguments sake, picture a world with a 1 loss LSU, an undefeated CAL, an undefeated Hawaii, and an undefeated Ohio State.
Who goes to the dance...I'd like to think it would be us, and it certainly wouldn't be Hawaii, but you know Mouse Ears would be screaming for that LSU vs CAL matchup, pit the top PAC10 and SEC teams because everyone knows those are the best two conferences.
Of course who's to say we won't end up with UConn and Missouri duking it out in the NC this year

But he is not a great QB, and at this point, I don't think he can be one. He can fulfill the needs of this team. Good enough for me, and that was my only point.

What is your fetish with the word "servicable"?
They call it "Passing Efficiency" ratings instead of "Best Quarterback" ratings for a reason. "Servicable" quarterbacks don't have a 63.64% completion percentage, get over 8 yards per attempt, and have a TD/INT of almost 2.5-to-1...they also don't start for Ohio State.

Unless you last name happens to be Bellisari.......
But that was at the very beginning of JT's tenure and it seems like it was eons ago. With the rise of the program Mili is on target. You don't have to be a Superstar to play QB at OSU, you just have to manage the game and not turn the ball over. In that regard TB is more than serviceable he is a damn superstar.........

Gee, you might try and read my posting again. I didn't predict that we would get there, only that given the talent on the team, we might get there. Secondly, it appears you don't understand how the BCS works. Unless you believe Cal AND LSU are going to go undefeated, we don't have to worry about the media at all. One of those loses, and we go undefeated, and we play in the NC no matter what the media thinks. If you think USF leaps over OSU for the NC with both being undefeated, you are more delusional than the homers.
