I assume you are just basing this off the last game, and maybe the ball against Minny that Robo came down with...
By my count he threw 6 or so deep balls this past week...He has the 3 picks...The 2 to Robo were lobbed up in the air, but keep in mind I am sure that Boeckman has that relationship with Robo that he feels that he will go get it...Maybe he is becoming a little to confident in that, and I am sure the coaches are on him...
Then he has the ball to Small where he led him for the td...
Then he had the 2 deep balls to Hartline the one that was picked, did not have enough air under it, and the other one was a td, but the DB interfered with Hartline, but the ball was where it needed to be...
He also had one on the first drive, don't remember who it was too, just remember that it wasnt a great ball, but don't remember if it was underthrown, overthrown or what...
So he was 2-6 on deep balls that I can think of, and maybe if Robo makes a play on one of those, and Hartline knocks the ball down on the one to him, well then he only throws 1 int and he is 3-6 on deep balls...
I have a lot of confidence in his deep ball, I think what hurt this past week, was the fact that the receivers werent getting the seperation, and he was laying it up and trying to let them make the play...
Keep in mind all the times he has hit Robo, Small, and Hartline already this season...
Best deep ball thrower that Tressel has had...

Yes, and even some of those were underthrown, like the long pass up at Washington that Robo took for a touchdown. He had to wait on the ball to get there.
No doubt Boefckman has the best deep ball arm of any QB Tressel has had but he still needs to not get so much air under it.

Yeah but the thing is when it comes to a deep ball, it is all about not overthrowing the receiver...That is the cardinal sin when it comes to the deepball, just give the receiver a chance to make the play, and where he put that ball led Robo to a td...

I would disagree with this statement.

I have to say I like Troy's deep ball better than Boeckmans. That's not to say that I think Todd is bad. But, Troy would hit guys deep and in stride. I've seen too many underthrows and overthrows out of Todd to say he's the best. That said, he has the tools and the time to make good on your assertion, CBF40.

Smith's was more like a laser beam and Boeckman's more like a rainbow. The Smith TD pass against Penn St. last year comes to mind.
