National Title and it ain't even close. You get a chance to beat scUM every year but need a lot to go your way to get a National Title.

I have always been of the school that beating scUM trumps everything else, that being said, the scenario of losing to YSU, losing the Bowl Game and those other games, but beating scUM does not sound nearly as good as losing a tough one to scUM and winning the NC.

1) if we lose The Game, i don't see us winning a MNC.
2) 2001 was pretty sweet.

The question is basically would you rather be mediocre and defeat TSUN or be incredible but lose to them. The choice is simple, National Championship. In a single season those should be the ultimate goals. If you strung together incredible teams but couldn't beat TSUN season after season you'd just be Cooper--in all fairness to him he never had a NC to cement his future.

I don't either lvbuckeye, and that's the beauty of hypothetical questions, that you can think about extreme possibilities.

And I agree, I believe that I have seen a similiar thread (i.e. would you rather beat Michigan or win a National Championship?) before too. Just curious, what key word(s) would you search on to readily locate it without looking through possibly hundreds of threads? I've frequently had a difficult time locating an old thread that I knew was out there.
