Just got back to hotel room. Totally frustrated! Missed tackles, blown coverages, turnovers, personal fouls. I heard an announcer on XM say that we beat ourselves more then LSU. Just damn!
Anyway, about my experience in New Orleans. I have been to Clemson, Kentucky, UGA, Florida, Florida State, Purdue, Indiana, Alabama, Auburn, and several small school football games, and without a doubt, the LSU fans were the worst. I know that LSU fans will say that there are always a few bad apples, but there were A LOT of bad apples. Everything was good until about 1:00 PM, after the LSU fans had a few drinks. There I am with my 12 year old son, and grown ups, teens, and college kids getting right in our face while we are walking down the street. Anything from 'Tiger bait' to 'you suck' to a grown woman asking my son where are his nuts! And this was not just a few people, I would say at least half the fans we passed had something to say to us. A little advise LSU fans, after you sober up, go get some class! I told one guy to act like he has been there before, and he almost came out of his shoes! He was THINKING of saying something else until a few HUGE buckeye fans showed up.
This was my last visit to New Orleans. I was not impressed.

I've seen New Orleans bring out the worst. I saw it with Florida State fans in 99 and our own the year after against A&M. We have plenty of arogant, drunk fans too. Sorry you had to have your 12 year old son deal with it, that'snot right. [censored] the bad apples. I have pretty good size to myself...so I haven't had to deal with too much nasty jousting.

I have to say, that we had lots of fun with all of the OH St. fans in the quarter. Sure there was some good natured gamesmanship going on, but then we partied together and had some great times.

I am so sorry to hear that. I just found this site because I wanted to find a place to thank your fans. I live in Baton Rouge, about an hour away and grew going down to New Orleans. I didn't go to the game but went down to NO Saturday and Saturday night. The LSU fans came down in droves after that, but there were enough to make it fun. Anyway, we met alot of Ohio fans and everyone was so nice. We had a blast.
I do have to say that Bourbon St (just as a previous poster stated) can bring out the worst in any fan base, especially one that feels at home here. If you played LSU back in Baton Rouge you would experience something totally different. You'd be invited over to tailgate spots as you pass by to try the Gumbo or Jambalaya. That's the majority of LSU fans.
My friends that have made the drive back home this morning said that the Ohio fans they met were all saying that LSU fans were the nicest they'd come across. On Bourbon St, you're definitely open to experiencing many different types of people, from fantastic to horrible. That's the way it's always been and always will be I guess.
It's a shame that some jerks always have to surface, and I just hate that they left such a bad impression. On the other hand, I had a fantastic time and met some great folks from Ohio State.
