This is a pretty good idea. Not many people give any thought to the "non-humans" the storms impacted.
Somewhat off-topic. I'll try to find the link for it, but along the Biloxi gulf coast people carved a lot of the old Oaks that died from the flood. Carved them into all sorts of "symbols" of the area, fish, bird, etc. etc. Looks really nice.

Interesting. I think its a great idea, though maybe not a whole Buckeye Grove ... I think it'd be cool to replant whatever is indigenous to the area, with one Buckeye tree in a small clearing in the center.

I think y'all should do that. Next time y'all make it to Sugar Bowl or NCS y'all could go check it out and see how y'all's little forest is doing. Maybe even carve some initials in 'em.
I am still waiting on a big L S & U so we can do that O-H I-O thing. Purddy Pleeeze!!!

Plenty of Buckeye (asculus) plants are native or adaptable to that area. Link
I've got a native growing outside my window here in SC, and, yes, it puts on Buckeyes.

The Ohio Buckeye
The Ohio Buckeye is indigenous to the area, but the general idea would be to just plant trees. Gotta be some Buckeyes among 'em...
So here's my thought--I'll try to get in touch with a nursery in the area. Find out if planting this time of year even makes sense. If it does, the Sunday before the game might be a good time to do it, as it's when most of us will be there.
Everyone can order their tree, and the nursery would meet us and maybe they can suggest a plan for where/how to plant.
Feedback much appreciated...
