Georgia hasn't won a game outside the South since 1965. Florida has one win outsidee the South since the late 60s (Rutgers in 1986). Auburn hasn't won one since 1978. In fact, Auburn's all-time road wins outside the South...

It isn't a new thing either. And what's funny about it is that they actually played more teams from the north/west pre-Civil Rights Era.

Does anyone really think we - as fans - can keep the same level of focus when Grandma and Aunt Millie are coming into town two days before the game? When we have a house full of guests for the weekend half of whom don't care about football or are fans of other teams?

You can tell yourselves it will be the same, but you are wrong. your wife may tolerate you being on another planet that entire week now - but not when her parents are coming for dinner.

Think of all the pre-game parties and other festivities that traditionally happen the week leading up to the game. Particularly on Friday night. Those don't happen the day after Thanksgiving when the wives are out shopping.

First week in December means much higher chances of bad weather - but screw it.

Let's build a damn dome, start a 32 game playoff. stick a flag in the ball carrier's pocket and be done with it.

I totally agree. When I first heard of this I didn't think much about it since I graduated so long ago. But, I would guess that more than half of the students won't be able to or will have to go through hoops to attend THE GAME. I mean the campus pretty much shuts down that weekend. And, parents are less likely to want to bring students back Friday or very early Saturday so they can go to the game. Unless of course most of the on-campus students have their own vehicles to drive back early. I was lucky enough to have my car my sophomore year in a parking garage but there just isn't that much parking space on campus. And the students that have to fly home won't be able to fly home for just a day or 2. In any case, it will be a very weird situation.

That is rediculous thinking. First of all, theres more than just students to attend The Shoe. I know for a fact that my entire family would rather sit in a foot of snow in Columbus than at the dinner table. this is Big Ten Football people! And you gotta understand, alot of OSU students are from Ohio so your pretty much not more than 3 1/2 hours away an any direction. And I've never met a Buckeye fan or a student who had tickets to The Game and didn't go! So don't you worry bud, The Shoe will be the same old "Sea of Red".
