Drove there for a day from Keesler AFB (Biloxi, MS) back in 1976. I can only imagine how much it had changed from then up until Katrina...

I watched the January '03 Fiesta Bowl in a bar in the French Quarter. A great visit in many, many ways.

Hey, same can be said for my Chicago!
Seriously...
Anyhow, been down to NOLA many times on business. Always enjoyed the town.
My favs: The Palace Cafe & The Napoleon House for dinner.

I went for the 1998 and 1999 Sugar Bowls, then took a year off, and went back with friends for New Years.
I took another year off, and went back with friends for New Years again, promptly flew out to Tempe, and saw the Bucks beat Miami in double OT.
I love New Orleans. I wish the national title game was set on January 1st. There is something to be said for a large amount of people who have all come to drink some adult beverages and have a good time. Oh, and breasts.
p.s. For first time visitors: find Central Grocery in the French Quarter for the original Muffeletta -- and I think it's a requirement to wash it down with root beer.

Even Cabrini doesn't touch the Lower 9th.
Wardigley on the other hand...
