There is Patterson and Gant that can fill in as well in nickel packages, as can Amos. I believe all three have seen playing time this year at nickel.
But let's not fool ourselves, if indeed DW is gone for the game, it is going to have an impact, unless a couple players can really step up their game.
Here's hoping...

Those worried about Chekwa having to play the full game, which I'd say is a legit worry, should remember that Ohio State started a Freshman named Nick Mangold, a Freshman Rob Simms, as well as a Freshman named AJ Hawk against "unbeatable" Miami. Actually, I guess I'm not sure if all 3 "started" I know Sims did, and I know AJ played extensively. Mangold may have come in after an injury. I forget. Edit: Just looked, Sims started, Mangold did not... neither did Hawk, as it turns out.
Incidentally, Chekwa is a redshirt Freshman.

Beanie goes down...worry. Boeckman...freak out. Either of the OTs...oh [censored].
...but if there is one position on the roster where you shouldnt worry too much, it is DB.
At least it is happening now....starter reps are MUCH different than sub reps.
The attention to detail is a massive difference between the two as is the intensity in the coaching scrutiny dedicated to those details.

For sure. Clearly DW is the best option, but OSU has much depth at DB.

For the record, the entire secondary had problems against Illinois. Hell, Malcolm was almost in the backfield on one of those play-action fakes that Juice threw for a TD.
CC played an excellent game against Purdue on the road, in his first game at night that would be nationally televised, and impressed me. He was on an island most of the night with one of Purdue's receivers (Although they don't compare to LSU's) and really shut them down. If Washington really can't go than I have a feeling CC will step up.
Amos will probably step in at the nickel. I really hope Heacock doesn't decide to go conservative if CC plays corner, and really hope he doesn't try to play soft zone and let them drive against us. Best thing to do is probably pin our ears back and let Laurinaitis and Co. generate pressure up front. But with the problems LSU is having in pass protection Big Vern and Cam, in an ideal game, could generate enough pressure along the defensive line to where we didn't have to blitz much and could relieve a lot of pressure off of the secondary's shoulders.
