for the most part, yes. it is relevant to college football every year. but thats not really the point. noone said the game was important to you personally nor that it should be. i for one am fully aware that the outcome of the tOSU scum game has little bearing on the sec other than potentially affecting what team an sec school faces in what bowl. however, this does not mean that the game is somehow "irrelevant". just because YOU don't care doesn't mean that it isn't very important to others. the game is most certainly important and relevant to me every single year.
the army navy game typically has little impact on the college football landscape. but i would hardly call it irrelevant or meaningless. in my mind thats easily one of the top 5 college football rivalries.

2007 - lsu vrs tenn
2006 - florida vrs. arkansas
2005 - georgia vrs. lsu
2004 - auburn vrs. tenn
2003 - lsu vrs. georgia

2002 - georgia vrs. arkansas
thats 4/5 or 4/6 (2/3 if you will) depending on which one better serves to prove your point i suppose.

2005 - tOSU/psu co champ
2004 - scum/iowa co champ
2003 - scum outright champ
again that pesky 6th year...

now i know what your going to say. co champ blah blah blah blah. lets say just for the sake of argument that the big 10 had a championship game just like the sec does. im seeing 2 (or 3 depending on how far we go back) years in which the conference champ was shared. in each case it was shared between 2 teams. meaning that if we actually had a conference championship game it would likely be those two teams who would have faced each other in order to determine the conference champ. so its very likely (depending on how the conference was split) that tOSU or scum would have been in every single conference championship game over the past 5 or 6 years. which is either 5/5 or 6/6 (1 as it were) respectively. so my response to your theory that the lsu auburn game is more relevant because the winner then had a direct shot at the conference title more often than "the game" is a big fat, "negative on your last over".
understand im not trying to take anything away from what lsu and auburn combined to do over that time period. that is flat out impressive for any two teams in any conference especially the sec. but it doesn't make your statement anymore factual.
