The elites this year in those conferences are basically EQUAL in talent and speed. They just all play different styles of football. I think history is great and truly enjoyed learning about OSU, but Michigan has not been good for a while. OSU is the class of the Big 10 and have been for a while...

No more than the last 3 or 4 years with the advent of the SPREAD offenses and the reduction of avaible scholarships. Those two things have transformed college football into the most intersting form of football. Parity everywhere and the days of programs dominating over decades are probably over.

Joe Tiller has been running the spread in the Big Ten since 1997. Before that, he was spreading it out with Wyoming since 1991. Of course, there were others running this type of O, including Northwestern, Cincinnati etc. I think you mean spead option.

I think the contradiction in posts speaks for itself, but I have a question for you. I thought Ohio State was so slow to adapt to the spread offense and our defense could not handle it. Wouldn't that mean Ohio State would not be the class of the Big 10?

In the last two years it has changed some. The anti-SEC bias is why a 2004 Auburn team does not get a shot at the NC. They all felt that USC got screwed the year before. Then it was OOPS, look how OK played in that game, now lets give Florida a shot. Florida beat OSU now there is pro-SEC tilt to the media. If OSU beats LSU then it will swing back to see, the SEC is not as good, we all knew that... That is why polls suck it is all figure skating opinion...

Was it SEC anti-bias that prevented the 1994 PSU Nittany Lions from winning the 1994 AP or USA Today championships? Should I argue it was anti-Big Ten Bias?

What are you determining? Who are the best teams? Who is playing the best at the time? What match-up do we really want to see? It changes from year to year.

Fortunately, OSU and LSU are lucky we are the game people wanted to see in the NC.

Revisionist history everywhere. the BCS was constructed by the same douche that made up the SEC title game and does absolutely NOTHING to take opinion out of the game. Hell their name is a misnomer, there isn't anything like a "series" in it......

As for everyone's darlings ( ) USC, the complaint was about OKLAHOMA not winning their own stupid CCG instead of LSU. I would have loved to see LSU play USC that year.

The BCS is alleged to determine the two most deserving teams. It is what it is. You had 3 undefeateds, and only two could make it. If Auburn had played a tougher schedule, they would have been in over Oklahoma or SC. The BCS formula is screwy, no argument from me. And, I agree that the changes to the 04 formula were made owing to the 2003 USC getting left out. But, it's not bias.
