ACC officials are an embarrassment to college football. They delayed numerous games by up to 20 minutes at a time, not because of replay, but because they were standing around trying to decide what the rules were for what had just happened. There were times when they simply didn't know and they negated the play because of their own ignorance. Seriously, they had "do-overs" in Div. I football games.
I've seen better officiating at the Pop Warner level.

What he said. ACC is by far the worst, watch any of their games and you'll see it.

Thank god its not ACC monkey's.
However, lets not forget the screwing we were taking from the B12 officials in the '02 NC game before Porter just simply made the right call in a big spot. They weren't doing us any favors by a long shot.

For what ever reason "all star referees" sound like an oxymoron to me. I'll vote for this well qualified officiating crew (who just happen to have "bowl experience"):

Which is why they are the only BCS conference who will not have a crew working a BCS game.

After watching the Champs Bowl last night, I am convinced that the B12 officials still don't call holding (or offensive pass interference). Hopefully the crew that we have knows that if Vernon is getting undressed on his way to the QB that that is actually illegal.

on a side note related to that I have been converting 2007 games from my DVR to DVD and noticed the B10 crew in question did the Akron game.
At one point the announcers commented on how you "almost never see the ref make that call from back there" and it just struck me. I'd be interested to know if he didn't have some interest in the under on that game. A ref can affect the flow of a game with constant ticky tack penalties a lot more effectively than with one big glaring call imo.

The conferences use a ranking system to rate each official. The BCSCG will have a crew that ranked #1 at their respective position by the Big 12 evaluators.
