No doubt Tressel has a great resume, I think everybody around the country knows that. The only thing I was trying to say in the original post is that I don't think it is quite the lopsided Ohio State advantage that the rest of the nation would probably think it is. still an advantage? yes somewhat, but not overwhelming.

Wait a minute here. 04 Ohio State was was probably the second worst Ohio State team of this decade. They'd lost a record 14 players to the NFL draft from the previous year and they went 7-4. This years team is 11-1 and ranked #1 and is loaded with present and future 1st and 2nd round NFL picks. You don't think there is a dramatic difference there? What planet are you on?

Additionally, Oklahoma State was favored in the Alamo Bowl and was supposed to be a team that Ohio State would struggle with because of their "speed" and their versatile QB. Ohio State proceeded to dominate every aspect of the game and the 33-7 final score was not indicative of how badly Oklahoma State was dominated.

This was brought up in the Les Miles, "The Hat" thread, to which I replied:

"Stoops: 2-2 against OU while at OkState. Meh.
Coker: Beat Coker's 2005 Miami team that was in the beginning of their collapse. So-so.
Spurrier: Beat 6-6 South Carolina by 12 at home this year. Not impressed.
Saban: Beat 6-6 Alabama by 7 points on the road. Not impressed.
Fulmer: 2-1 against fat boy, all three games close.
Meyer: 2-1 against Meyer, with both wins coming at home by 4 points.

At first glance, "conquering 6 Crystal Trophy-winning coaches" appears impressive, but upon further review..."

Those who think isn't a great coach is his own way are mistaken, but I wouldn't simply tally up how many "Crystal Football" coaches he has beaten. Tressel has beaten Coker, Mack Brown, and owns Carr (who won the last natioanl title before the BCS took effect). He also has beaten Joe Paterno (two national titles) five of seven times. That simple counting of coaches is a true measurement of ability. Probably the best would be head-to-head, where Tressel has coached against Miles once, winning 33-7 just three seasons ago.

Miles' bowl resume:
2002: Houston (W)
2003: Cotton (L)
2004: Alamo (L)
2005: Peach (W)
2006: Sugar (W)
(Also 1-1 in SEC championship)

Tressel won 4 of 6 I-AA championship games, has been in 4 BCS games (winning 3).

Resume advantage: Tressel, overwhelmingly.

Depends on what your gradient is between somewhat and overwhelming. Tressel has coached in enough national championship games to equate to almost a full season. In this regard, Tressel's experience is greater than Les Miles by a LONG shot. Does this experience equate to an "overwhelming" advantage or "somewhat"? Who knows. Either way, it's an advantage. Couple this with Miles' relatively reckless coaching calls, and I would say said advantage only continues to sway in Tressel's direction.

Ok, we'll see. I'm happy that Ohio State people can post a little bulletin board material of their own.

Miles as being a "reckless" coach is totally a media creation. I have agreed with every single one of those calls and I'm glad we have a coach who will play to win the game. I would be much more worried if we had a Brian Billick type who kicks the field goal on the one yard line to play for OT rather than showing confidence in his team and going for the win right then and there.

How is factual material good for the bulletin board?
