Didn't Eric Kumerow play OLB back in the late 80's?

ESPN Insider

Don't know if anyone else saw this on ESPN's Briefing Room update about Dorian Bell, but I think this quote from recruiting analyst Billy Tucker (who?) pertains here:

"Big steal out of Pennsylvania and the hands of the Nittany Lions, the once perceived linebacker U."

No. DE all the way. And a very good one at that!

YES. Download the "2007 Divison I Football Records Book" from this page:

NCAA - Football Records

It will be a large PDF file (3.7 mb - 626 pages). All American Awards are listed (begining pg 214), but only those considered "consensus" by the NCAA. You can read more about their criteria in the PDF.

Buy Collegio. Comes highly recommended:

NCAA College Football Electronic Media Guide - Free Trial & Download

You can download a free trial which only has Big East conference data. Awesome program, though. I've been using it for three years. It has all your AA data in there.

I was a student at Ohio State when Eric Kumerow was there. He was an Outside Linebacker at Ohio State.

EDIT: Here is a LINK to Ohio State's list of all-time 1st team All-Big-Ten players. Look at 1986 and 1987.

EDIT II: The fact that EK was tabbed as a DE for the pros is the reason he was not listed as a 1st round pick in post #1 of the thread. He was chosen 16th overall by the Dolphins back in 1988.

If I remember correctly Ohio State ran a good bit of 3-4 during that time as well.

Which leaves us with Matt Finkes who was a DE in Columbus and in the pros (unless he spent some time at LB while in Scotland that I don't recall) but who's on the list as a 6th round pick.
