He didn't look at the fact that our QB situation was unsettled in Texas or that we were heading into an almost impossible atmosphere at PSU. He also refused to acknowledge the fact that scUM being a rivalry game had anything to do with it. All the while he counts ND as consistent because they played well in their one big game, but refuses to say that MSU and scUM performances were not consitent saying they were "just one game". How can you not take those things into account is what I want to know... Those may have something to do with consistency problems. To me, if a team plays well in their big game and still loses, it doesn't make them a better team.

Why would he do such a thing? Maybe to get a rise out of folks?
If he wanted to, and thought it would get better ratings, he'd be talking about how great OSU is for having the mettle to come back against Michigan. If he wanted to, he'd argue about how OSU has lost by a total of 10 points to 2 of the top 3 teams in the nation. So what? The BCS Selection Committee isn't sitting around wondering about what Colin Cowherd thinks about consistency.

I agree... I just get angered by irresponsible journalism. It doesn't matter in the end, just always been one of my pet-peaves and thought I would give others something to talk about.

Who cares if our QB situation was unsettled, whose fault is that?
Here's my comeback to you on the Texas game, we got 3 turnovers in Texas territory and were held to 3 field goals.
That doesn't sound like a National title contender to me.
Refuting your second comment about the PSU atmosphere, you mean we lost in the same atmosphere that Texas came into our stadium and beat us in? |
