I didn't go through the entire thread, but has anyone else checked out that months-old query about Brian Cushing and 'roids last year or so? Was pretty interesting. I think Kiper has him as his 3rd rated Junior linebacker. Not quite the physical specimen of Maualuga, but he's still a playmaker.

From all the titty-pictures, right?
Uncycling improperly will do that to you.
Whatever came of those rumors, anyway? He's a great linebacker.

Yeah, those are the pics...I have to admit, those changes in his physique make me curious...I saw images of him several months ago and he looked jacked again. Won the Rose Bowl MVP last year. He is a player for sure.

I guess we will have to find out. I've watched many USC home games on television, but I never felt I could get an accurate gauge on the volume or tenacity of the crowd. Do they generally sell out? Or do they have empty seats for lame teams?

Atmosphere at the Coliseum is a blast. Tons of tradition. Stadium isn't the loudest becuase of the open end. Its a track stadium, not a football stadium. Tailgating is great. Campus is gourgus. Get there early or the night before becuase people mark off spots by about 5 am in the middle of campus. Parking is very expensive because it is downtown LA. I'm a student so I've never had to deal with it, but I hear the parking downtown and taking the bus is the best option otherwise you will be paying $40 to park at the least. It will be very loud for a night game, but from what I hear OSU is getting alot of tickets so it might be more subdued than normal.
And Autzen is the loudest stadium in the country, not the horseshoe. They set the record for the loudst noise ever at an American sporting event against SC last year.

Did they set the record? I know LSU had it and Clemson was up there also...

Autzen is known for its crowd noise. On October 27, 2007, during a 24-17 defeat of the USC Trojans, a then record crowd of 59,277 fans was recorded at 127.2 decibels.

IT'S LOUD HERE: The Register-Guard newspaper recorded a sound-level reading of 127.2 decibels -- louder than a jet plane at takeoff -- during Oregon's win over Southern California.
That's 8.4 decibels louder than the newspaper recorded two weeks ago during the Washington State game. And 1.2 decibels louder than the 126 decibels that 77,381 Clemson fans claimed to have reached two years ago against Miami.
|
The people who designed Autzen really know what they are doing. The acoustics are nasty.

As noted earlier Autzen claimed 127 db peak in the tilt vs. 'SC.
In the same season, in November Clemson claimed the noise limit benchmark with 129 db throughout most of a game against Boston College on 11/17. Highest noise level registered? 132.8 db.
