I don't think anybody is confusing them with Vince Young right now.

I think the basis of the argument was a more diverse attack than what Ohio State has shown recently (in National Championship games). What do I mean by diverse? Maybe a Henton/Pryor play or two doesn't hurt. See what they can do. I don't think they meant taking over the game like Vince Young at the end of the year.

USC gained 633 yards against Illinois. 49 points. How'd they do that? Well first they were playing a home game masked as a Rose Bowl. But they also had a sickeningly diverse attack. Booty was 25 of 37, and they ran a reverse and tossed a TD. 8 different USC receivers had a catch, 4 TD passes, and RB/FB with 13 catches. USC had 7 different players with at least 1 rush, with McKnight and Johnson over 100 yds and Washington not far off.

I'm not even sure Ohio State has that many players on their team. I've never seen them on the field at least. OSU has a lot of players and a lot of talent, so lets use them.

Be diverse. A Henton run or pass or Pryor run couldn't hurt, if its simple and well executed.

I would love to see the diversity as well... but that was certainly the exception, not the rule, in terms of USC's offensive production. Pac10 schedule: 47, 27, 24, 38, 24, 24, 24, 44, 24 points registered by SC.

Yeah I'm not saying they have to BE Vince Young but going from having a drop back passer to a QB Who can get outside and make a few plays here and there would be HUGE. Again, not asking our backups to take over the game but rather just to add another demension that IMO USC has trouble with. We need to do a balance of things in this game to pull this off though and it starts with #28. If USC thought Mendenhall was any good...

On offense I would like to see...
First- Beanie has got to get the ball 20-25 times
Second- We have to have mistake free play from our QB's.
Third-I would like to see us wear on that clock. With 2 Running backs over 220 (Beanie will be 250 mind you), and with an Offensive line as good as ours we should try to bleed the clock.

On defense....
First- Get after whoever the QB is going to be. Don't sit back and wait go get him and force him to do something with the ball.
Second- GET OFF THE FIELD ON THIRD DOWN.
Third- Get after Mcknight..

A question for us buckeye fans... Who would love to see Brian Rolle track Joe Mcknight the whole game? IMO, he's got the speed to atleast keep up but PHYSCIALLY he could really side track Mcknight. While I think Joe is terrific I think OSU should come up and jam the kid and get after him! Their's 2 things you must do to USC's offense next year 1) get after the QB and 2) Be physical with Mcknight.

I like that a lot. Maybe even more carries by Beanie if the qb at the time isn't playing mistake free. I think we have gold in him,and I think he can carry the ball as much as it takes to win.

Let the ground game dictate the clock and let the defense see what it's made of(it's loaded...Why not?) Keeping USC from getting momentum would help tremendously. Screw trying to outscore them..I say let's just out play them and win.

This is what college football is all about. Two teams with great traditions. National championships in this decade. A west coast power. A midwest slow non-athletic team with a very unimaginative offense and a slow defense and no coaching. It all comes down to blocking and tackling. Drive them into the ground time after time. Pick them up, dust them off and do it again and again! Poor Ohio State Buckeyes-well then let's kick their ass!

I doubt it. He may, MAY, be 240 right now. If he gets to 250+ he's going to lose some speed and shiftiness (look how many big runs he bounced outside last season). If he stays where he's at right now physique-wise and improves his endurance (not saying he doesn't have stamina now) he'll be able to handle 25-30 carries a game all year long and average nearly 6 ypc.
