Damian Williams, a WR that transferred from Arkansas, twisted an ankle at a practice that was open to fans.
Tidbits also mention McKnight taking some plays at WR, and a struggle to replace the long snapper.

Williams trips on USC's 'open door'
By Gary Klein, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
March 31, 2008
USC's open-door policy for spring practice allows hundreds of fans and other interested onlookers to roam the sideline during workouts and mingle with players and coaches on the field afterward.
On Sunday, wide receiver Damian Williams was nearly undone by the Trojans' welcome mat.
Williams, who has been enjoying a highlight-reel spring, was knocked out of practice after twisting his ankle while avoiding a collision with a child.
"I was trying not to hit that little kid," Williams said. "I didn't want to take him into the wall."
The incident occurred about 90 minutes into the two-hour workout, which drew a crowd that gathered in clusters four to five deep along the length of the sideline near the entry gate of USC's practice facility.

"struggle to replace long snapper" if we ever get them in the position where they have to punt or kick a field goal. A weakness?

It might be time for Mustain's Mom to schedule a talk with Pete.

USC's Sanchez takes all first-team snaps
Fourth-year junior from Mission Viejo seems to have widened the gap in the competition for the starting quarterback job.
By Gary Klein, Los Angeles Times
USC's third week of spring practice began Tuesday with what appeared to be a subtle shift in the quarterback competition.
Unlike the first two weeks, when Mark Sanchez shared some of the first-team snaps with Mitch Mustain and Aaron Corp, Sanchez took every one.
Sanchez performed much like he did in Sunday's scrimmage; short on highlight-reel plays but long on efficiency. With only six workouts left -- including two scrimmages -- the fourth-year junior from Mission Viejo seems to have widened the gap in the race to become John David Booty's successor.
"I've really made a concerted effort to be efficient and take care of the ball and I'm accomplishing my goal so far," said Sanchez, the front-runner to win the job when spring practice began. "We have six more practices and I have to do the same thing."
Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian praised Sanchez's command and the tempo with which he has run the offense of late.
